The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and an interesting update has come in the league. According to reporter Ari Meirov, “#Saints QB Derek Carr is dealing with a shoulder injury that could impact his availability for the 2025 season…..He’s currently weighing options, including surgery.” This is sad news for the New Orleans Saints… but also one which perhaps gives them leverage to pick Shedeur Sanders!

As per Meirov, “The #Saints restructured Derek Carr’s contract this offseason, lowering his 2025 cap hit but pushing his 2026 cap number to a massive $69.2M.” Now that he has been dealing with an injury, his chances of playing the next season have become low. The Saints hold the No. 9 pick in the draft, and if we are in the right direction, Shedeur Sanders might come to this franchise.

Guess what? Deion Sanders also speculated the same. On X, the Coach Prime dropped a cryptic eyes emoji, quoting Louis Riddick’s comment about the 9th pick in the draft. With this, he hinted at interest in this draft slot for son Shedeur Sanders.

Colorado’s QB is one of the top names heading into this draft. But let’s be real – he’s probably not going No. 1, even among QBs. Cam Ward’s been too good. Still, Shedeur Sanders has a strong chance at being the second QB off the board. That is, unless the Giants grab him first, as they’ve been eyeing up a quarterback too. But if they pass? The Saints might just get their chance. And of course, they need it.

New Orleans is in a rough spot. Just five wins last season, and twelve losses. It’s a rebuild, no way around it. That’s where Shedeur Sanders comes in. If he falls to them at No. 9, this team might finally get a spark, something they’ve been missing for years.

Now, we all know that Shedeur Sanders is not flawless. He’s not blazing fast, doesn’t have that rocket arm, and yeah, sometimes he holds the ball a little too long. But the dude can play. He’s poised, accurate, and a winner. He turned heads at Jackson State, and then made Colorado the talk of college football. That kind of presence? The Saints haven’t had that at QB in a long, long time. And with Kellen Moore now in charge – a young, offensive-minded coach who knows quarterbacks – this could be the perfect match.

Moore wants his QB, and Shedeur Sanders could be that guy. And fans? Well, they’re feeling it too. They’ve rallied behind Coach Prime, believing in Sanders’ path, to New Orleans.

Shedeur Sanders is making buzz online

Deion Sanders is all smiles watching his son, Shedeur Sanders, get closer to the NFL. He’s excited to see him step into a new system, help build something, and bring his leadership to the table. Now that the Saints are clearly in need of a quarterback, Deion’s keeping an eye on New Orleans – waiting to see if they make the call. But Shedeur’s sister, Deiondra? She’s not stressing about landing spots or draft projections. She’s just proud.

In a recent interview, she said,I don’t really have a team. I’m just so proud of him for the way he works hard and his work ethic. It’s like he’s done this thing right. You always have my dad to lead you, but you got to want it as well for sure. So, he’s done this thing right. So I’m just proud of him, whatever team he goes to. I just want him to go where he would like to go. That’s the best fit for him, and I’m just proud of him. It doesn’t matter where he goes.” So yeah, she’s cheering for him no matter what. But if New Orleans ends up being that landing spot? She’ll be just as happy as Coach Prime. And the fans? Man, they’re buzzing.

One dropped a comment that said it all: “Oh Shedeur Sanders it is! Rattler is trash! So I don’t want to hear it! Saints will get the best QB in the draft!” Sure, Carr’s a solid vet when the pieces around him are right. But let’s be honest – he hasn’t been showing that spark. And fans are ready for something new.

After the latest updates on Carr’s injury, excitement around Shedeur Sanders only grew louder. One fan said, “WITH THE 9TH PICK THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS SELECT SHEDEUR SANDERS is gonna hit like cr— in a couple weeks.” Another one imagined the moment: “The New Orleans Saints select… Shedeur Sanders, quarterback… Colorado.

And they all believe New Orleans just might be the perfect next chapter for young Sanders.
