Times aren’t good for Deshaun Watson. While the problems in his personal life seemed to have ended, the league misses him in his full form. During the week 6 game vs Philadelphia Eagles, the quarterback’s performance is being criticized. By halftime, he only had 5 of 11 passes with 46 passing yards. Fans are demanding coach Kevin Stefanski to bench him.
One fan posted a photo of the quarterback dressed in a garbage sack and wrote, “The Cleveland Browns need to Bench,Trade, or Release DeShaun Watson.” Another irritated fan tweeted, “Can the Browns bench Deshaun Watson in the 2nd half?”

Well, fans are not just angered at the stats, they want the QB to be benched! Rumors were floating that owner Jimmy Haslam was pressuring the coach to start the quarterback. But that certainly isn’t the case. NFL Reporter Mary Kay Cabot cleared all air regarding those rumors and refuted them straightaway. However, Cabot gave away the reason why the coach still wants to play with Deshaun Watson despite a 1-4 win-loss record in 5 games.
Cabot revealed that when the Browns signed the contract with the quarterback, Stefanski and GM Andrew Berry decided to bring him over. Haslam only signed on those papers. That might be the reason he is still starting with the QB. But how long can he do that if the results don’t improve?
There are 2 other quarterbacks in the Browns other than Deshaun Watson; Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The latter was with the team last season as well. However, in 3 games as a starting QB, he won 1 and lost 2. On the contrary, Winston has enough experience in the league. This is his 10th NFL season, after all.
All in all, Kevin Stefanski could try for a win by changing the quarterback. But it looks doubtful if he will do that. And the Dawg Pound is understandably disappointed.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Deshaun Watson the worst QB in Browns history, or is he just having a bad day?

With the numbers Watson is pulling, most fans are simply done with him. There’s a mutual outcry among the Dawg Pound to bench the QB, referring to him as the ‘worst QB‘ in the franchise history: “For the love of God, bench Deshaun Watson. He may be the worst QB in Browns history. That says alot.”
Hopping onto the same bandwagon, one fan went as far as to ask the HC to bench Watson from this game itself rather than waiting longer. Their point being he’s a ‘bum‘ and a ‘loser’ referring to his stats vs Iggles: “Deshaun Watson – 5/11 for 43 yards. What a bum! Bench this loser Stefanski!.”
At this point, there’s no question why Watson is not fit to be under center for the Cleveland team. Out of the 5 games that the QB has started this season for the Browns, guess how many he won? Just one!

No one knows if it’s team performance or coaching errors or the QB’s mental toughness being messed up due to problems in personal life. But one fan went to point blank mention that the QB is simply not fit for the role, and will not be able to land a W for any team. It seems this fan wants Watson to take a step back from the NFL altogether: “There is not an NFL team out there that can win games with Deshaun Watson at QB. It’s time to bench him and say goodbye to his NFL career.”
The game is tied at 10-10 at halftime. Will coach bench Watson? It surely doesn’t look like that as of now, but stay tuned to see how this saga unfolds.!
