Antonio Pierce’s coaching decisions have the Raiders in hot water. The one in the final seconds of a 17-19 loss to the Chiefs, got the fans fuming. And truth be told, it’s justified. Not all coaches can pull off an Andy Reid, right?

Pierce decided to go for a play instead of taking the field goal with just 15 seconds left. The result? A fumble and wasted seconds. This led to a 19-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders needed to cover a 49-yard FG to tie the game, which many pointed Carlson had the legs for. This poor decision adds to a growing list of coaching missteps that have plagued the Raiders all season.

The Raiders have struggled to stay competitive in 2024, sitting at 2-9. QB Aidan O’Connell tried to make an impact with 61.5% completion of passes but had six interceptions. That’s not very promising, right? And Pierce’s inability to manage critical moments just amplified the team’s failures this season. It was not just a bad game—it was part of a bigger trend that caused the Raiders to drop their last 8 games.

The team has faced consistent struggles in close games, with losses to teams like the Broncos and the Chiefs. Miscommunication and poor decisions have cost them crucial opportunities in both games. Maxx Crosby has been one of the few bright spots. The DE completed his 100th career tackle this season. Despite his achievements, the team’s performance didn’t improve. Crosby expressed frustration over the team’s struggles and voiced concerns about a lack of focus and drive in the locker room.

“I don’t play to get a better pick,” said Crosby after the Broncos game. The frustration among the Raider Nation is simultaneously increasing with each game. However, you must give it to them. They were competitive against the Chiefs for the most part. Aidan O’Connell did move to the Chiefs’ 32-yard line with 15 seconds left. But the botched snap between O’Connell and Jackson Powers-Johnson sealed the loss. O’Connell owned up to his mistake saying, “It’s completely my fault.” But that’s not helping Pierce’s cause. Fans voiced their anger after the loss.

Antonio Pierce made the Raiders fans frustrated following the Chiefs’ loss. Calling his own team “worst team in football” before the game only made things worse. Though his comment was about the perceived notion of the two teams, he wanted to change the narrative. This wasn’t taken kindly by the fans. After the loss, fans just went brutal on Pierce.

Fans like @SkylerTheSass didn’t hold back, tweeting, “100% on Antonio Pierce. Fire his a**. Zero reason they’re even running an offensive play there with no timeouts left. Kick the FG. Absolute moron.” Others like @ACash5150 voiced their disbelief, questioning why Pierce didn’t just trust Daniel Carlson’s leg for a 49-yard field goal attempt. Especially considering Carlson had the distance despite a rough day where he missed 3 FG attempts.

Pierce’s post-game comments about him trying to run more time off the clock before kicking the field goal intensified the backlash. @CosmoCurtatone suggested, “Fire Antonio Pierce. He was never qualified to be a head coach and stabbed Josh McDaniels in the back.” Pointing to his dynamics with former HC McDaniels, Pierce was a linebackers coach too.

As the losses pile up, frustration continues to grow. So does the calls for Pierce’s ouster. @om2theg1 put it bluntly: “Antonio Pierce is out of his depth. It’s time this forced hiring is canceled.” With fans losing confidence in the coach, one would wonder what the management is thinking.
