Fans packed the Arrowhead stadium for the most awaited Bills vs Chiefs conference game. The two met in the championship round after the 2020 season. Four years ago, the Chiefs defeated the Bills with just six more points in the OT. The Chiefs’ undefeated streak of 22 NFL games (excluding their controversial shutout loss to Denver) also fueled excitement for the game, only broken by the Bills’ Week 11 victory in the 2024 regular season. But the CBS announcer and former QB Tony Romo made fans pissed off in the first quarter itself.
Tony Romo talking about how great the Bills cornerback Christian Benford was before he was injured. Fans didn’t like what just happened after only the CBS announcer said good things about Benford. And why people are mad about it?
Tony Romo needs to STFU. Talks about Bills player being a must have player & he gets injured almost immediately. Talks about is not turning over since last Bills game and look…#STFURomo

The cornerback was tearing the Chiefs apart with 4 receptions at 7 targets for 7 yards and also defended one pass. But after his brutal helmet-to-helmet hit with Damar Hamlin (safety), Benford faced a concussion, and they carted him off the field. This was the 2nd concussion Benford faced in the past two games. Reportedly, he was not fully prepared for the practice on Friday as well.
Talking about Tony Romo, if this is not enough, the way he shows a bias towards the Chiefs wasn’t appropriated by the Chiefs fans. The fans got annoyed by the bias and commented and criticized him heavily on X (earlier Twitter).
Fans claimed Tony Romo favored the Chiefs
People are ripping apart Tony Romo’s announcement. One Bills fan commented on his bias, “For no other reason than disappointing Romo, I hope the Buffalo Bills beat KC. The bias is nauseating. #BillsMafia.” Another football fan reacted on X by saying, “Could Tony Romo glaze Andy Reid any harder? Chiefs fumbling and not recovering felt so good right after.”
The game had just started and his announcing was so outrageous that one fan couldn’t control to say, “Tony Romo needs to STFU. Talks about the Bills player being a must-have player & he gets injured almost immediately. Talks about it not turning over since the last Bills game and look…#STFURomo.” That’s a direct shot.

But in his announcements, Tony Romo hasn’t cleared his stance and hasn’t reacted to it. But one thing is clear, the former Cowboys legend better be unbiased before fans burst him with another humiliation.
