Just a month ago, the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans hosted a solemn interfaith service. Former President Joe Biden, his wife, Jill, and other national leaders assembled to pay homage to the victims of the New Year’s day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street. While trying to inspire them, Biden said, “Whether it’s this attack or hurricanes or superstorms, this city’s people get back up.” Rightly so, they got a moment to celebrate. Super Bowl LIX! The NO Saints owner, Gayle Benson, planned something special.

Both the Chiefs and Eagles arrived in the city on the evening of February 2. To start the countdown for the big game, the Cathedral was lit up in blue and pink lights. In the center, Super Bowl LIX was written along with a projection of the trophy, in red and orange lights. It also showed the rival QBs clashing in the title showdown. One side showed Jalen Hurts and the Eagles sign while the other had Patrick Mahomes with the Chiefs sign.

Not only that, Gayle Benson is assisting the security officials to make sure that Ceasars Superdome is free from anything dangerous. Federal Aviation Administration (FDA) has already banned drones and flight restrictions will be imposed up to 18,000 feet (5,486 meters) around the stadium and downtown New Orleans.

However, Gayle Benson has another challenge on her hands. While some weather forecasters have reported that the game would be played in the snow. Other forecasters are coming up with contrary claims. According to Scot Pilié, forecaster for the local channel WGNO-TV, the game would be played in temperatures of 80°F. Depending on how things go, it could give the Eagles a slight advantage… or not.

Although the Saints owner is often praised for her work, she faced flak from fans for the creative idea. Many people were pissed when they saw the cathedral lit up in blue and pink.

A conspiracy also spread with Gayle Benson’s head drawn as a devil with the message, “I sold my soul.” One person posted that photo with his message that read, “Right. Gayle Benson should be ashamed of herself.” While the Saints owner might have thought of using the cathedral to show the city’s heritage, it backfired. Another person called it wrong to use a religious place for this purpose and wrote, “Just wrong. It’s a place of worship.

Some even directly targeted the Saints owner as one of them tweeted, “Gayle Benson is the worst owner in all of sports.” However, some didn’t want to use words and just used 1 word to explain their feelings, “Horrible.
