There’s never a day in the NFL without some controversy. No matter what, fans always find a reason or two to lash out at something. This time, fans are lashing out at Roger Goodell, commissioner of the craziest league around – the NFL. And no, the reason isn’t about favoring the Chiefs in the league.

It’s because the Chiefs are playing on a holiday. Merry Christmas, folks! Finally, the holiday season is here. We hope everyone is enjoying the festivities with family and friends at home. But wait, no! It’s not the case for the folks in the NFL. At least not for the Chiefs and Steelers. And oh! Even the Ravens and Texans don’t get a day off. That’s exactly what has fans upset. However, Roger Goodell has a completely different take on the situation. I think we’ve looked for those opportunities where we can create an event out of it. You know, holidays? That’s what we do.

Talking about the games on holidays, the NFL commissioner added, Thanksgiving has been our biggest day of football for years. You know, we saw it. I think we averaged 30 million people for the Christmas games over the last four or five years. So, for us, that’s where our fans are. I don’t ask permission for that. We go where the fans are. We’re going to go and we’re going to find a way to satisfy that.”And yeah! we’ve also had games on Thanksgiving

Remember the Cowboys vs. Giants game? If not for the game, you’ll at least remember Lindsey Stirling’s performance. Speaking of which, Jerry Jones cleared his stance on the league officially scheduling games on the festival.

Christmas Day is Christmas Day, and it doesn’t wait around for what day it’s on. We want to be there on Christmas Day. I would think the future is whatever day it’s on, we’re going to be there on Christmas,” said the Cowboys owner. Well, fans might not care what he says; he’s always been the outspoken one. Thanks to him, we get entertainment from all his shenanigans. But fans are not at all letting Roger Goodell slip away.

Don’t you all get excited when December arrives? The cold month brings a different happiness with it, the festive spirit, holiday vibes, the jolly month. Christmas gets everybody excited. After waiting for a whole year for Santa, the children are the happiest when the day finally arrives. And what does it mean for everybody? To be with their family, friends, and kids. It gives everybody a reason to unite with their loved ones. But fans are not at all happy that their favorite teams are not getting to do that because of their NFL duties. I ❤️ you guys and I’m so sorry you have to go play again on Christmas 😕,” writes a Chiefs fan.

Love the chiefs but hate that they and any team has to play on Christmas. I don’t care what profession you are in Christmas should be the one day each year you don’t have to work,” said a user ahead of the Chiefs game. While the commissioner focuses on increasing viewership, fans are focusing on tradition. “I don’t understand why the Super Bowl winners have to play an away game on Christmas. I get the ratings are high for the SB winners but at least let them play at home🤷🏻‍♀️,” writes another user.

But have we all forgotten that this isn’t the first time we’ve had games on Christmas Day? I mean, it’s the fifth straight season we’ve had games happening on Christmas. Had to be a man to make the decision of football on Christmas Day!!” commented a fan.
