This request came unexpectedly, given the rumors that Mike Tomlin was on the team’s trading list. The reason for this backlash can be that the Jaguars were attempting to sign Tomlin just a few days ago. And then this news came, leaving followers perplexed and enraged all at once. One fan has even called out the team, stating “Steelers are shameless” for this move.
Not only that, but other fans are criticizing Trevor Lawrence as well. One person has accused the quarterback of being a terrible player on the field. And the Steelers should have focused on other players: “Lawrence s—- don’t get him Yinz”
Lawrence’s bashing by fans did not end there, as some began to label him and the team as non-threatening. They rank the Steelers and maybe their future quarterback as middle of the NFL. So according to them this addition to Mike Tomlin’s roster is unlikely to make a significant impact. The fan claimed, “A mid-player for a mid-team.” Furthermore, some Pittsburgh fans sided with the team, thinking that Lawrence was a horrible choice. They claim, “R we trying to tank?”
While these words for Trevor Lawrence were certainly too harsh other fans started appreciating him. They started to take the side of the QB arguing that he does not deserve this type of treatment. He has a higher potential than this and deserves to be on a much better team rather than the Steelers. The fan stated, “He deserves better.”

This was not it, since several supporters stated that the Jaguars would not be willing to make this trade. They described the news as something that is quite unlikely to occur right now. The fan stated, “There’s no chance.” The reason for that could be Jacksonville’s horrible season, and maybe them not wanting to get rid of their starting quarterback. Maybe until they get a better one.
But the biggest twist about the trade is yet to come. There are chances that the current outrage against the Steelers may potentially lead to the cancellation of this trade. But why is everyone so angry at the team?

DeShon Elliott’s words about A-Rod have hurt the Steelers’ reputation
However bad is a performance for a veteran there should always be respect towards them. This is a common moral standard that fans always adhere to. And owing to this there is still enormous regard for major players that had bad seasons such as Aaron Rodgers. But it appears that DeShon Elliott does not think this way. Not only that, but the football safety humiliated the veteran with his recent controversial comments.
Everyone knows that Rodgers is actually a significant candidate for the Steelers’ future QB option. However, the 2024 season was a disaster for him, which is why the team is examining this thing properly. But in this time their football safety Elliott recently claimed that Rodgers should not play anymore. DeShon shocked everyone to the core when he said, “Leave his a— at the retirement home.”
Oh-mine! This comment sparked widespread criticism of Elliott and the Steelers. So much so that there is talk of the team being discarded. According to speculation, this comment may have an impact on the team’s deal with Rodgers as well.
