I’m not saying his name.” Ja’Marr Chase treated Patrick Mahomes like Voldemort from the Harry Potter Series about 6 months ago. When an ESPN reporter asked who the Cincinnati Bengals’s wide receiver thinks is the No. 1 player on top 100 last year, Chase refused to take Mahomes name. Although he highlighted the greatness of the quarterback, he decided not to take his name. Instead, he went for his QB Joe Burrow, saying, “I’m not saying his name brother. I’m sorry. Joe Burrow. I’m not saying that guy’s name.”

Ja’Marr Chase called himself “salty” for taking a jab on the Chiefs winning back-to-back Super Bowls. But his saltiness seems never-ending. In a recent interview in Orlando at Pro Bowl Games on Friday, the WR again took a wild dig at Patrick Mahomes’s team. He expressed, “Everyone knows I’m not a KC fan. So I’m hoping Saquon rushes for like 200 this game.” Ja’Marr Chase made his stance clear for whom he is rooting for in this Super Bowl LIX.

While speaking in an interview on NFL Live, he further added, “I think overall, it’ll be a great game just because both sides have great players on each side.” Well, no doubt the Chiefs vs Eagles game will be interesting. After all, the additional spice here is it’s a rematch of the Super Bowl LVII. So, Ja’Marr Chase, who is not a KC fan, wants Barkley to rush for over 200 yards in the game, to win against Patrick Mahomes’s team. Now who wins this one is a thing for later. At the present, Chase is hoping for something else too, besides the Eagles’s win. So, what is it?

Well, in the same interview, when ESPN’s Laura Rutledge asked Ja’Marr Chase regarding his contract situation, the WR expressed, “I just hope I get what’s fair at the end of the day.” Chase is entering 2025 in the final year of his five-year rookie deal with Cincinnati. So, now he believes that he will get what he deserves. He remarked, “You know, doing what my worth is at the end of the day. Hopefully, I don’t put too much pressure on anybody, but you know, I just want it to be fair, that’s all.

Fair? What exactly did he mean by “fair?” Rutledge asked the same question to the chuckling wide receiver. And he said, “Fair is just what I deserve. I can’t really say everything I want to say. But you know, it’s what I deserve, it’s what I worked for. It’s how hard I worked for it. It’s a written story already, so it should be a fair change, yeah.” No doubt Ja’Marr Chase just had a season for the history books.

He’s now one of only 13 players ever to win the NFL’s receiving triple crown—127 catches, 1,708 yards, and 17 touchdowns. And obviously, the numbers like that demand a record-breaking payday. His ex-LSU teammate, Justin Jefferson, has already set the bar with a $140 million deal & $110 million guaranteed. So, Chase should also get something big, isn’t it? But here’s where things get tricky.

The Bengals have a hard rule. They don’t guarantee money beyond the signing bonus. The only player they’ve ever made an exception for is Joe Burrow. Now, Chase has a decision to make. Will he push for a deal that breaks Cincinnati’s tradition? And if he does, will the Bengals budge? This could get interesting. But what if he lands on to some other team?

What’s your perspective on:

Will Ja'Marr Chase's contract demands force the Bengals to break tradition, or will he move on?

What if it’s the Chiefs for Ja’Marr Chase? KC Fans are reflecting back!

Ja’Marr Chase made two strong statements in Friday’s interview with ESPN. First, he took a jab at the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. Second, he showed his confidence in the payment he would receive. But things didn’t turn out well for Arrowhead fans. Therefore, they all joined on social media to voice their calls against the WR. For instance, a fan exclaimed, “He’s gonna beg to be in KC next season.”

The Chiefs are aiming at their 3-peat history-making. And if they are successful in doing so, many players, who are hitting the market this season, will want to come into KC. Hence, as Ja’Marr Chase’s contract is about to end soon, fans think he too will “beg” to come into Patrick Mahomes’s team. Nevertheless, there were other comments as well, such as, “The Chiefs live in this man’s head rent free,” “Such an old and tired take. Grow up,” or even “Everytime JaMarr speaks out against us, we win the SB.”

With all the backlash Chase is facing, KC fans clearly highlighted that he has a history of taking jabs at the Chiefs. In fact, they believe his trash talk is a lucky charm, because every time he speaks against them, the Chiefs win. So, will the team win this Super Bowl LIX too against the Eagles?
