“Clean. This was 100% Williams fault for not sliding”, writes a user. Williams, in his first year, is giving it his all but still making the mistakes. He’s got no NFL experience, so fans could cut him some slack. But no way, they’re not holding back. “Clean, Caleb wanted to fake ‘going off the field’ to make an extra play and take advantage that everyone is afraid to touch the QB.” Well, the internet is brutal at times.

While most of the fans are bashing the QB after another loss, Caleb Williams has set a record in his debut rookie season. After nearly suffering an injury from a hit by Campbell in the third quarter, Williams set a new benchmark for consecutive passes without an interception. The Chicago Bears posted the QB’s achievement on their official X account. And guess what? Fans are bombarding the comment section under the post with their opinions. “Absolutely incredible with no offensive line to protect. Congrats, Caleb!”, writes a user. But this means nothing after the loss to the Lions.

The amount of hate the 23-year-old is getting from fans and analysts is unreal. But still, the QB’s been improving his game. You could see it in the last game against the Vikings. Maybe Caleb just needs someone like Andy Reid. We know how important it is for young talents to be under the right mentorship. And Matt Eberflus does not seem like that mentor, at least not this season. The management should have a conversation with the HC about his poor analysis, coaching decisions, and ill-timed management.

There is a serious question as to why the team isn’t getting wins, even after the QB is setting new records. So, Williams isn’t the only problem here. The management needs to step in and figure things out. It’s high time for a call. You cannot just sit around and waste a young talent like that. Bring in a new coach maybe. If Williams fails to perform then, sue him. But as long as mistakes are happening from the coach’s side as well, you can’t make a single person the scapegoat for your failure.
