This Super Bowl, we’re taking a trip down memory lane—the Chiefs vs. Eagles rematch. Kansas City outplayed the Eagles in 2022, so this time, Philly has a chance to avenge their big defeat. The rivalry is on, and there’s some serious bad blood between the two teams. Speaking of bad blood, singer Taylor Swift has found herself in another controversy. Ever since she started dating Travis Kelce, the NFL world can’t seem to escape her. Swift’s name somehow ends up in every Chiefs-related matter, whether it’s ref drama or something else.

And you know pretty well that whenever Taylor Swift is involved, the Swifties have to show up, no matter what. This time, Swifties are fired up at Eagles TE Dallas Goedert. Why? Because the New Romantics songstress isn’t on his playlist. Goedert, on Monday, was asked about Taylor Swift, and his answer isn’t sitting well with the Swifties. “Is she the one that sings ‘Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls’? She doesn’t? …She’s an incredible artist, but she ain’t on my playlist. I’m more of the Philly guys, the Meek Mill; obviously been listening to a lot of Kendrick Lamar.” Is he being honest there or just taking a dig at his opponent’s sweetheart? Whatever it is, the fans are furious.

I mean, people can have different tastes in music, right? But that’s probably not what the pop star’s fans are fuming over. They’re wondering if Goedert has been living under a rock -how do you not know Taylor Swift? Umm… better we don’t get into that debate. But that’s not all. 

Dallas Goedert and Philly’s fans face heat from Swift fans

Dallas Goedert’s comments weren’t the only thing that offended Swift fans. You know how fans can go to extremes against rival teams. Well, Philly fans did something that has outraged the Chiefs Kingdom even more. Some Eagles fans made a shirt that read “F*** Taylor Swift,” using Philly’s logo in place of the letters C, Y, and W. After it went viral on the internet, netizens were divided over the whole thing.

So, about the Eagles TE not acknowledging Taylor Swift’s music, Swifties are of the view that Dallas Goedert is throwing shade at her. One user didn’t hold back, writing, “He’s full of s***. He doesn’t even know the Waterfalls songs he’s trolling.” Another chimed in, “He knows who Meek Mill is, but not Taylor Swift? Yeah, he’s definitely trolling.” But not everyone’s on the attack.

Some are defending Goedert, saying that not everyone listens to the same music, which is a pretty valid argument. One user wrote, “Many people don’t know any of her songs. Why is this shocking…” But then things took a turn when someone went to the extreme, claiming, “It’s called he’s a man. Men don’t listen to Taylor Swift.” Um… that’s quite a stereotype.

On the other hand, Chiefs Kingdom and Swifties have been firing back at Philly fans for making that shirt. One user wrote, “Now I really hope the Chiefs kick Philly’s a–.” People are condemning the behavior of attacking Swift personally, with one user saying, “Ok, people. She has done nothing to you. And anyway, football is only a game—relax.” But, as always, the internet is divided.

Another user chimed in with, “This is the 1st thing from the Eagles I can actually support!” On the flip side, some are just brushing it off, even joking about where they could buy the shirt. One comment read, “Looks fine to me where can one purchase this? Asking for a friend.”

The war of words is definitely on. But who will get the glory and who will have to eat their words? That will become crystal clear this Sunday.
