Houston witnessed a Christmas Day massacre thanks to the Ravens, who shredded apart the reigning AFC South Champions. On the day when Texans fans were supposed to be treated by Santa Claus. They were unfortunate enough to welcome the Grinch from Baltimore, which gave them a reality check before the playoffs. This may have led to questions being raised at DeMeco Ryans, whose Texans didn’t at all look like a playoff team.
I mean, you never really expect a team that is chasing a Super Bowl to lose the way the Texans did on Christmas. If it weren’t for their safety, Kamari Lassiter’s tackle on Derrick Henry at the end zone. The Texans would have been the second franchise this season after the Saints to lose without scoring a single point. Seeing the way how they performed against the Ravens, their star pass rusher, Danielle Hunter, had some strong words for his coach. As per DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN, Hunter called out Ryans’ tactics, “The biggest thing we can do is just game plan better.”
Now, there’s some truth in that. Every time the Texans have faced a superior team this season. They haven’t really shown their potential apart from dominating their division. Out of their 9 wins, only four of them have come against opponents who are still in the hunt for playoffs. Two were against the Colts, and one each against the Bills (qualified) and the Dolphins.

Even Ryans’ has refused to mince his words after getting bashed on Christmas, “That’s not who we are. That’s not what we represent. What we put out there on the field. That’s not Texans football.” Then what was that really? A 29-point loss against a fellow playoff team isn’t what the Texans had hoped for. Their defense was all over the place as the Ravens ran them off the park. They gave up a whopping 251 rushing yards, with Derrick Henry racking up 147 of his own. Well, you can’t really only blame Ryans for the Texans’ blowout loss!
Their former Offensive Rookie of the Year, CJ Stroud, is also receiving heat for his production this year.
Fans call out CJ Stroud for his hypocrisy before the start of this season
Coming in hot from his rookie year with the Texans. Stroud’s confidence was probably touching the roofs of the NRG Stadium. And that might have led to him ranking himself ahead of this year’s potential MVP winner Josh Allen. Yes, you heard that right. A clip shared by Trainwreck Sports showed Stroud ranking his top 5 QBs this season. Without any doubt, he placed the reigning Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes at first. Then Ravens QB Lamar Jackson at second and proceeded to give himself third.

And the final two spots were given to now-injured Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts. He didn’t even utter the name of Josh Allen, who is probably going to win the MVP this season. Allen has already racked up 3,549 passing yards to his name, alongside 26 TDs. What makes his numbers more impressive is that Allen has also contributed significantly on the ground. He has 514 rushing yards on 97 carries with 11 TDs.
So where does Stroud rank in comparison to Allen? Well, the only thing he has beaten the Bills QB to is passing yards (3,677) after 16 games. The Texans’ sophomore QB has only thrown 19 TDs and a whopping 12 interceptions to date. And when the fans found out that clip of him putting himself ahead of Allen. They were quick to troll him as one of them commented, “To be fair, bro, missing all his hitters for real.” There was another fan who called the Texans’ QB an average QB, to say the least, “Thank god this dude is so mid now we don’t have to hear him talk all offseason.”
Now, those reactions didn’t end there. As another fan had a piece of advice for Stroud’s offseason take on QBs, “Stroud needs to educate himself on qbs.” Just when you think Stroud has already been trolled enough. Another fan summed up his QB ranking with a brutal reality check, “This definitely did not age well lol.”

What didn’t age well was the expectations surrounding CJ Stroud. He is nowhere near the QB who won the Offensive Rookie of the Year last season. But the Texans still have a game left on their hands before stepping into the postseason. It remains to be seen what they can do in Music City to potentially end their season on a high.

Complete delusion. Josh Allen is MVP material, CJ Stroud is average at best… below average as of late. I hope...more
