Brett Favre accomplished everything on the gridiron! From winning the Super Bowl to being named MVP, you can name it and he has probably already done it. The QB had a legendary 20-year career, and most of it he spent at the Green Bay Packers. Just unreal. Everyone knows that the icon had a number of memorable moments throughout his 16-year stint in Green Bay. But it appears that after joining the Minnesota Vikings, Favre became a more loyal player for them. So much so that when asked about his best play, he thought about his time while wearing purple. Any guesses?
Brett Favre has been asked many times what his favorite plays of all time are. I mean, there are so many great moments he has given to us. The QB has a lot of options to pick from. But we might have an answer finally! Favre uploaded a video on X in which we can see him defending his teammate. This was a shocking moment, after all, he is a QB. And that’s not the surprising part. He tackled a defensive player so hard that he landed upside down on the field.

Obviously the moment was unexpected when it happened, and Favre recalled the moment branding it his fave play of all time: “Good Monday morning: If you ask me to give one play that represents my career and my passion for the game and my teammates this is it.” This game vs 49ers was truly iconic in every sense, and Favre is pretty much known for that ‘Downfield Chop Block‘ as he tackled 49ers’ Patrick Willis after making a pass to Bernard Berrian. But this game is not known for just this moment! Remember his iconic game winning throw?
Yep, we are talking about the same game in 2009 season. In week 3, Favre—39 at the time—and his team were trailing with 24-20 with a mere 12 seconds left on the clock. That’s quite a time crunch, no? Obviously the vibe was tense and maybe the San Fran team was celebrating already. But Favre swooped in and completed a deep endzone pass to Greg Lewis, resulting in a TD. Unreal! That’s what it was. And while this specific game was iconic and landed him a win, the former QB’s choice of play didn’t sit well with fans.
I mean, one would expect him to pick something from his time with Green Bay—he did spend a third of his career with the Bay Area team after all. So, Favre is pretty much being chastised for not being loyal to the Packers and instead choosing a play he made for the Vikings.
Fans say Brett Favre has broken their nostalgia for them
Growing up, when you watch your favorite team, you always pick one player as your favorite. Mostly QB. After all, they control the pace of the game. And when you do that as a kid, you always go all out emotionally for that player. That’s what some Packers fans did with the former Super Bowl champion.

Did Brett Favre betray Packers fans by choosing a Vikings play as his career-defining moment?
Have an interesting take?
Favre was with the team for 16 years, which is not a joke. Watching someone for so long makes it a routine. And his decision to save his best moment for another team is pretty disappointing for those fans: “brett.. I grew up in GB going to all your games… and this makes me incredibly sad.”

Interestingly, this is not the only fan who has called Favre out for doing this. While on one hand some fans claimed: “Purple is not your color.” Some went with simple facts, expressing their dismay that Favre as a Viking was not his OG fans want to see. Comments such as “@BrettFavre….as a Viking!…come on man” and “Your “one play” you share is when you played with the Dikes and not the Packers? Cmon Brett” were pretty much stacked up under the post.

Obviously not everyone was as brutal as not acknowledging Favre’s time as a Viking, but some felt that him picking up a play from his time with Minnesota is kind of a disservice to his Green Bay fans: “Great play, just kinda wild, it isn’t in a Packers uniform.” And this is where the loyalty question comes in. But, BUT, some fans liked his pick, one even calling it an unforgettable play: “PATRICK WILLIS. I’ll never forget that play.“
See, in the end it’s the former QB’s personal fave, and even if he chose to pick one from his time as a Falcon, that’s just what he feels, right? But which play of his would you call as the best? Do you agree with Brett Favre’s choice, or is there something better he might have forgotten?
