Do y’all feel sleepy listening to Al Michaels? Apparently, some of us do. Every Thursday, Al Michaels slander fills a section of X, and this Thursday was no different. There’s near to no inflection in his voice. People are a bit irked that they have to watch a Thursday Night Football game between the Packers and Lions with no oomph on the commentary side.

But it’s not just the boring commentary, it’s the occasional misinformation too. Jared Goff threw a pick that landed in the hands of Keisean Nixon, And the TNF host said that Goff doesn’t throw interceptions. He then quickly backpedaled to the time when Goff threw 5 interceptions. That kind of commentary might tire people out.

In the early third quarter, Jordan Love threw a touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft. But Al Michaels had no energy to spare. The Ford Field echoed with loud noises on that touchdown. However, all the commentator said was a soft, “touchdown.” But there was a time when the broadcaster said something asinine in the game.

“Thin line between a genius and a bum,” Michaels said. What do you even make of that statement coming out of nowhere? Maybe that’s why a lot of fans want him to retire at his time and hand the mic to someone like Kevin Harlan. But the woes don’t stop here.

There was a play where Packers RB Josh Jacobs was running with the ball. For that, Michaels said, “Gibbs to the outside.” This might be one of the reasons why he gets a lot of backlash every week on X. Anyways, let’s check out what the people are saying.

Football fans blast Al Michaels

One fan called out the Prime commentator on X when he wrote, “Al Michaels is so cooked man. Horrible call on the Tucker Kraft touchdown and I’m pretty sure he just called Josh Jacobs ‘Gibbs’. Time to hang up the microphone.” This other fan was just upset at the quality of the commentary and wrote, “Al Michaels and this Kirk guy are absolutely terrible.”

This other fan thought the commentator had given up on his job when he wrote, “Al Michaels definitely hates his job 🤦🏽‍♂️ dude has no excitement anymore.” Another person had the same reaction watching the commentator call the prime-time game. Subsequently, he commented, “Al Michaels couldn’t be less excited to call a prime time game between two of the leagues best teams.”

This other fan wanted Michaels to hang it up as he wrote, “Al Michaels gotta call it a career man. Dude has no enthusiasm anymore.. #TNF.” It’s the same thing every Thursday. At least we get some banter out of his commentary.
