Is Al Michaels' brutal honesty a breath of fresh air or just plain disrespectful to the game?

What’s up with the announcers calling games these days? Either they are really bored or not paid enough (which cannot be true). The New York JetsHouston Texans game was a bit boring in the first half so Al Michaels decided to spice it up a bit. Apparently, he’s not really fond of the New York Jets.

Aaron Rodgers is always a hot topic. But his “darkness” comment after the loss against the New England Patriots got the memers working overtime. Michaels also weighed in on the bandwagon and decided to take some shots at Aaron Rodgers on the Thursday Night Football game.

Right off the bat, Michaels brought up A-Rod’s ayahuasca escapades when he said, “Aaron thinking ‘I gotta get back to Peru or something.'” Does he not like Aaron Rodgers or something? It’s hard to tell at this point. But there’s more as Barstool Sports picked up some of Michael’s other shenanigans.

Michaels got too candid on prime-time television when he said, And we’d just like to sincerely apologize to America for what we’re broadcasting to their TVs. This game is truly a crime against humanity. Makes me question why I’m even still doing this.”

Maybe the slow start bothered him and he decided to go a little off course with his commentary. His partner Kirk Herbstreit didn’t know how to respond to this and immediately tried to deflect the conversation saying, “Big 3rd down coming up here for Rodgers and the Jets.”

There was a moment in the game when they started playing snippets of Rodgers’ last presser after the loss against the Patriots. Michaels described Aaron Rodgers comments about him having been in “darkness” before and dubbed it a “Philosophy class.” Whatever Al Michaels’ consensus of the 4x MVP is, his words can be hilarious sometimes.
