Predicted to be the top draft choice in the upcoming NFL 2024 Draft, Caleb Williams has kicked the hornet’s nest. With the Chicago Bears laying claim to the first pick of the draft, they are in line to scoop QB Williams. However, his recent statements might have irked some hardcore fans.
In a recent interview at the NFL Combine, the upcoming star QB Williams professed his love for one of the most despised players in Chicago. The New York Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers. And it is because of his connection with the NFC North.

“I try to model my game after a bunch of guys”, said Williams in an interview. “But Aaron Rodgers is number one”, said the 22-year-old Williams. But that is not all. The Heisman Trophy 2022 winner further professed his admiration for the former Green Bay Packers QB!

“Aaron Rodgers”, said Williams with a smile to the question of his favorite NFL player of all time. Though Rodgers has left the arch-rivals of the Bears to join the Jets. But the Bears fans would not like this gesture from their future QB.
For more than 17 years, Rodgers represented the Packers. This is a fact that must not have been lost on the USC graduate as well. His love for the former Packers’ QB substantiates his admiration for the Packers as well. The youngster must surely be aware of one of the oldest rivalries in football.
Williams reignites the dormant rivalry
For more than 100 years, the Packers and the Bears have contested to be the top team. Facing each other for the first time in 1921, a game which the Bears won 20-0. But in recent years the Packers have taken a solid lead, with the series at 107-95-6 in the favor of the Bay area team.

The Packers have won four Super Bowls compared to the Bears’ one Super Bowl victory back in 1986. Now with Rodgers gone and Williams all but set to join the Bears, the pendulum is swinging.
