This might just be it for Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills. After a sad loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bills are out of the post-season games and have lost a chance to get their hand on the Lombardi Trophy. Diggs didn’t have a lot to show in today’s game and Josh Allen had to practically carry the whole game throughout for the Buffalo side.
In the wake of this loss, some rumors about Stefon Diggs are resurfacing and it’s not looking good for the Bills wide receiver. A post from NFL Notifications sheds light on what is about to come the Bills’ receiver’s way. For all we know, he might not even be there for the Bills post-June 1st. Here is the reason behind his potential exit from the team.

NFL Notifications posted on X, suggesting that the Buffalo Bills might part ways with Stefon Diggs soon. This is an attempt to save $19 million in cap space in 2024, which is only a viable possibility if the Bills trade him after June 1. Per the account, this decision was potentially affected by the controversies that surrounded the player in the offseason, along with his recent performances.

It was journalist Stephen A. Smith who back in August 2023 had mentioned Diggs wanting an out from the team because of him having lost belief in the side. Addressing the same on his X account, the WR had clarified how this was not the right depiction of the situation and he did not even know where these rumors were coming in from.
While the speculations of his exit continue to surround the team even 5 months after this remark, there is a matter that potentially bothered the football player during the games concerning the QB of his side.

What bothers the Bills wide receiver?
It started at an MNF game in November when the Bills lost to the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium. After being targeted only three times by Josh Allen, the frustrations grew for Stefon Diggs. In that game, he had only 3 receptions and 34 yards to show in his stats column. This irked his brother Trevon Diggs as he remarked, “Man 14 Gotta get up outta there,” after the game.

This stirred the whole NFL community and people started taking shots at the football player, his family, and particularly his brother for making an uncalled-for comment shading Josh Allen. Stefon Diggs’ relationship with Allen has not been the best in recent times. This goes back to last season’s divisional game loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, where Diggs was seen yelling at Allen on the sideline.

Again, he was targeted 10 times and had 35 yards besides his name. The game resulted in a 27-10 loss for the team, with a controversial comment emerging from the QB. When he had been asked about Diggs, Allen had commented how they’re working on things “internally” that are in reality “non-football related.” This was potentially enough reason for the audience to understand that matters weren’t exactly smooth between the two.
