The Bills face a costly hit in 2024 with Josh Allen after the disappointing end to their season. What could have been a game-changing play turned into a disaster, raising doubts on Diggs’ abilities.
Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs are one of the highest-paid players on the Bills team currently. Going into the offseason, the Bills are in a conundrum with these players’ salary cap hitting the roof. The team is short on budget and will face the daunting task of letting some of their players go. Dov Kleiman noted the same and shed light on the cap hit by Josh Allen.

Josh Allen has recorded the most number (44) of TDs (passing plus rushing) this season and fought hard in the Divisional round but still lost the knockout game once again. The same old story repeated, and the Bills couldn’t reach the Super Bowl again despite reaching the playoffs every time under Josh Allen. Amid this, his salary cap is going to increase more than two times which sounds alarming for the Bills during a crucial phase of bringing in new talent. Dov Kleiman laid down the figures by posting them on X, reflecting the increase he has achieved season by season.

QB Josh Allen’s cap hit started from $4.8M in 2019 and reached $18.6M in 2023. This year the amount is going to be $47.1M, causing big trouble to the Bills’ pocked. Other than Allen, Stefon Diggs’s cap hit is going to be $28M, which also causes concern for the team. As per reports, the Bills are projected to be around 42 million Dollars over the 2024 threshold. However, recent performances and off-field controversy with his brother reflected a chance of the team bidding goodbye to Stefon Diggs.

Will the Bills release Stefon Diggs?
Diggs’s mistakes at the crucial last drive played a drastic role in the Bills losing the Divisional round. With 8:23 time left in the game; Allen produced the best throw of the night for 60 yards to Stefon Diggs. Diggs miscalculated the throw and dropped what could potentially have been a game-changing catch. He was targeted three times in the final drive but did not seem to stand up to the standard that was expected of him.
