The Buffalo Bills are all set to lock horns with the Cincinnati Bengals at the Paul Brown Stadium under those dazzling Sunday Night Lights. But hold on, there appears to be an issue that the Bills seem to be navigating on the rocky injury terrain. This week’s report had a tough blow with two key players sidelined for today’s colossal showdown.

Undoubtedly, the defense will miss the relentless duo, Baylon Spector (hamstring) and A.J. Klein (back), both ruled out. As these stories had made the news from the Bills’ base, a new twist was added to the list. Interestingly, it featured none other than the player who had “nearly lost his life to cardiac arrest last season in Cincinnati”—Damar Hamlin!

Damar Hamlin, unfortunately, won’t be suiting up against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Buffalo Bills decided to designate Hamlin as a healthy scratch just hours before the Bills storm into the Bengals’ stadium. NFL insider Dov Kleiman took to social media platform ‘X’ to drop this news update.

With the caption, “Update: #Bills safety Damar Hamlin is expected to be an healthy inactive for the #Bengals game in Cincinnati tonight, per @AdamSchefter” However, there’s more to this gridiron tale. Last season, Hamlin faced a heart-stopping moment with a cardiac arrest on the Cincinnati field, bouncing back to life in front of thousands in the stadium and on TV screens.

Throughout his recovery, teams and players across the league rallied in support of the Bills’ safety. Diagnosed with commotio cordis, a rare and serious medical condition outlined by the American Heart Association, he got the green light to return to football in April.

Damar Hamlin isn’t just making plays on the field; he’s scoring big in the community by rolling out a scholarship program for Cincinnati’s young ones this Sunday. Through his foundation, Chasing M’s, Hamlin is stepping up to the line, dishing out $1,000 scholarships for 10 deserving youths over the next three years.

But here’s the actual touchdown—he’s naming each scholarship after the heroic first responders, nurses, and doctors who saved him when he faced a cardiac arrest in Cincinnati in January this year.

With Hamlin on the sidelines and the Bengals revved up, will the Bills pull off a victory, or will those ferocious cats pounce and conquer? The answer to these questions will eventually be met as the showdown unfolds.
