This NFL season has been full of surprises, both pleasant and unpleasant. It looked like a perfectly written movie script, with action, revenge, politics, drama, everything in it. An absolute blockbuster. And just like a blockbuster movie that is remembered and talked about forever, some things happened that will be talked about forever. The Giants releasing Daniel Jones will always be one of them. With a 2-8 record, the Giants hosted the Bucs at home in Week 12.

Giants’ first game without starting QB Daniel Jones. And guess what? Things got so heated up at MetLife Stadium as the Bucs and Giants faced off. Bucs QB Baker Mayfield put the ground on fire. As the QB scored a touchdown, he celebrated it in style. And Tommy DeVito looked not so happy about it.

Why? Because Mayfield copied DeVito’s move to celebrate the Bucs’ touchdown on the Giants’ home turf. That’s firsthand embarrassment for the Giants. Looks like DeVito’s first game did not go how he expected after replacing Daniel Jones.

A couple of days earlier, Giants owner John Mara released an official statement announcing they were releasing Daniel Jones. It came as a huge shock to both Giants players and fans. They turned to Tommy DeVito to replace Jones. Although there wasn’t much the Giants could have done to save the season, for DeVito, it was the perfect opportunity to make his mark on the team for the long run. But he missed his shot. Instead, he had to watch Bucs QB Mayfield doing the moves that he might have thought of doing. Tough luck!

Baker Mayfield taunts Giants at home—Is this the ultimate disrespect or just good sportsmanship?

Have an interesting take?

The Giants played like their usual selves. They added another loss to their column, with a 7-30 defeat. So now, with Jones gone, who’s going to take responsibility for this loss? Are we going to see a new drama unfold? It looks like Jones wasn’t the problem, but can John Mara see it? Anyway, the talk of the town is Baker’s celebratory moves. So let’s just stick with that!

Did Baker Mayfield injure himself during the game vs. the Giants?

The Bucs nearly had a heart attack when Baker Mayfield bumped heads with teammate Luke Goedeke. Right after that, the QB had to head to the medical tent. But the game had to keep going, and Baker was questionable to return due to a stinger. It was the fourth quarter of the game, and they were still leading. But it was his day, and he wasn’t about to miss it. He returned to the field quickly, finishing with a bang at 30-7. Ugh, the injury scares in the NFL!

Anyway, the good news is Baker Mayfield isn’t injured. Looks like it’s smooth sailing for them now. But it’s not all smooth sailing to the playoffs. With this win, they only have 5 wins on their record, so the road to the playoffs is still far from easy. But remember, anything can happen here in the NFL. It’s getting more thrilling as we head into the final phase of this season.

As for the Giants, they can play the rest of their games without any pressure. They don’t have the playoff train to catch. Maybe they can use the remaining games as a warm-up for next season. Hopefully, Giants management will do better next season and bring fewer internal conflicts and drama.
