After the arrival of rookie QB CJ Stroud, things had been looking up for the Houston Texans. But in devastating news, it seems that they’ll be playing the rest of their season without offensive lineman Tytus Howard. The Texans are currently 6-5 and are set to face the Denver Broncos with a similar record on Sunday Night Football. How will Tytus’ loss affect the Texans’ offense, and will the Broncos’ defense be able to hold them off?

The Texans have been marred by injuries this season. Despite that, they have been doing pretty well for themselves. Their offense has the 6th highest yards per game and is in the top 10 according to points per game. How will things look going forward?

Ian Rapoport took to X to break the news that Howard will have to miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury he sustained on Sunday in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He will have to undergo surgery to repair it. He had walked off the field in the first quarter, and rookie Juice Scruggs was called in to replace him.

This is the second long-term injury this season for the Alabama product. The 27-year-old had to watch the first 4 games of the Texans from the sidelines due to a broken hand. He had been drafted in 2019 as the Texans’ first-round draft pick. He earned a contract extension worth $56 million in July, which is an extraordinarily large summer for an offensive lineman.

The Broncos have momentum on their side

The upcoming game against the Broncos is much anticipated. A team with one of the best offenses in the NFL will clash against a defense that has been pretty much carrying the entire team through the last 5 games. The Broncos have momentum on their side, as they are coming off 5 straight victories.

In the last game, the Texans went 21-24 against the Jaguars, losing by merely 3 points. They are eager to make a rebound and establish why they deserve to play in the conference championship. The two teams have played against each other only 9 times, and the Broncos have a 6-3 record. Will the Texans manage to improve their record this time, in spite of a crippled offense?
