Do you think bad weather will expose the Jaguars' weaknesses against the Browns?

Looks like Mother Nature’s pulling a last-minute audible for the Browns vs. Jaguars game—better bring those ponchos, just in case! Florida’s been on a rain streak for 11 days straight, up until Friday. No pool parties, no golfing, and the gridiron? Only for those okay with a little mud on their face. But hey, there’s hope—the sun might just make a surprise appearance!

As of Saturday morning, Jacksonville saw a break from the rain. Fingers crossed it stays that way! A little less rain means a little less stress for fans and players alike. How would you feel about a dry game after days of downpours? Let’s not jinx it, though.

Our reason for optimism? You may ask. Well, here’s the rundown on Sunday’s rain forecast:

  • The chance of rain was higher than 50% on Friday.
  • By midnight Saturday, the odds shifted to a 24% chance of rain at kickoff.
  • The rain chances dip even lower as the day progresses, settling around 15%.

These are reports coming straight from credible sources like the weather tracking system near the stadium, and the Weather Channel, amongst others. On top of this, there weren’t any early showers on Saturday, either. At least not until 11:00 AM ET. So, there’s hope.

Still don’t leave it up to Mother Nature, because she’s not the type to listen to prayers. Whether it’s sun or rain, come ready for the first game of the 2024 season at EverBank Stadium. Pack your ponchos, grab a raincoat, or just embrace the 80-degree weather as it is. The Browns vs Jaguars game should not go dry in terms of fandom support either.

Set of ‘Soggy Day’ guidelines for Browns vs Jaguars clash

Mike Kenny, the GM of ASM Global—who basically manages EverBank among other venues, assured fans that the gridiron in Jacksonville is in “great shape,” despite all the rain. So, don’t worry—the Browns vs Jaguars game is happening no matter how soggy it gets. The only play that could cause a timeout? Lightning. And for that, they’ve got a National Weather Service meteorologist on standby to keep everyone updated. How’s that for game-time strategy?

Have an interesting take?

Kenny had a list of guidelines for the fans who would be there in attendance on Sunday. If dangerous weather hits, the scoreboard, PA system, and even social media will immediately notify the fans. If you aren’t following the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on social media yet, now’s the time. You never know when that storm warning might drop. Safety first, right?

Here’s a heads-up: umbrellas are a no-go inside the stadium. If you’re in a parking lot when the storm rolls in, Kenny advises heading straight to your car. And for those without a car or relying on rideshare? Don’t sweat it—they’ll shelter you inside the stadium until it’s safe.

Lastly, no DIY ponchos from trash bags, please! A limited number of actual ponchos will be available at guest services, but why risk it? Come prepared, because the only thing worse than a rain delay is getting soaked with nowhere to hide. Ready for game day, rain or shine?
