After being drafted as the no. 1 pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2015 NFL Draft, Winston had joined the Saints in 2020 to be the second-string QB. The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner is set to replicate the same role for the Browns and for the injury-prone Deshaun Watson!

According to reports, Winston has signed a 1-year contract with the Browns worth $8.7 million. There were reports that several franchises were interested in acquiring the 30-year-old’s services. But in the end, he chose to represent the Browns.
However, his inclusion signifies a move away from the 2023 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Joe Flacco. In his one year with the Browns Flacco won the hearts of the fans, but that could be over. Or could the three aging QBs thrive in the present system at the Browns?
The QB depth at the Browns is staggering
With Watson’s injury last season, Flacco turned back the clock providing inspiring performances. However, the former Los Angeles Rams QB will soon turn 40. And the Browns look to reinvigorate their QB depth. Instead of carrying aging QBs for another season!

The Browns have a first-round pick at the seventh position in the upcoming NFL Draft 2024. They could be looking to acquire a young QB to work with Watson and Winston. With Flacco becoming a free agent, this looks to be the path forward for the Browns.
