Is Myles Garrett the next big name to leave the Browns, or will he stay loyal?

Ever since the Browns went on a 1-5 win-loss path, one thing was certain. Roster cuts were incoming! The team is struggling with caps as well since they already have Deshaun Watson sitting with a 5-year $230 million contract. The first casualty was Amari Cooper. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills. Now everyone is discussing who else will get traded this season. Defensive End Myles Garrett is the name everyone gets stuck at.

His cryptic statement after Cooper’s trade added fuel to the fire, as he stated, “When you lose, the door is open for anyone.” Though he has often maintained that he wants to play at the Browns for his career and doesn’t want to get traded, anything can happen in the league of uncertainties.

The Althletic’s Zac Jackson reported that DE wasn’t getting traded, and there are no talks about it in the management. But he also made a fascinating observation. Jackson claimed that the Browns should instill confidence in their team or else Garrett could engineer his exit from the team.

Many teams would try to grab him if the team decided to trade him. Detroit Lions need someone like the Defensive Player of the Year to bolster their defense. 2024 season has also been wonderful for Myles Garrett. In 6 games, he has 13 tackles (all solo) and 4 sacks. However, the question now is whether he will be traded.

Amid all these trade rumors, his focus is only on the week 7 game against the Bengals.

Myles Garrett wants to take Browns forward

On the 20th of October, the DE would be up against Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals. However, he is ready. He isn’t fazed by Cooper’s trade and wants his team to work on the current situation.

During the press conference on October 18, the DE talked about his future at Browns and said, “I want to play here until the end of my career. I want to win here. I want to bring a championship here.” For this season, his focus is on improving the game at his current team and better the results in their favor. A recent ranking report might give him the confidence to go all-in for the remaining games.

Cleveland.com recently released ‘The 40 Most Influential People in Cleveland Sports’ rankings, and the DE was ranked 7th on the list. His records speak for themselves. The star rusher is the only DE in the league with 10 or more sacks in each of the last six seasons. Moreover, he is the first Browns player to win the Defensive Player of the Year award and one of 11 Browns athletes with 3 All-Pro honors.

All eyes are on him. Can he lead the defense to hold its forte while the offense sorts out its problems? Dawg Pound thinks he can. We’ll find out soon.
