Brock Purdy Welcomes New Member to Purdy Family as Sister Whittney Announces Big News

But it’s not about us congratulating them, but rather Whittney’s pro-footballer brother, Brock Purdy‘s wishes for them.

On the morning of the 7th of July, the San Francisco 49ers QB shared his sister’s engagement reel on his Instagram story with a warm message for his soon-to-be brother-in-law. “So happy for you, sis! Pumped to gain another brother. Love y’all,” he wrote on his story followed by a red heart. Well, imagine getting such a message from a star athlete. Just thinking about it can give you cold feet. But Jared controlled his nerves well.

The reel that Whittney shared on her Instagram captured all the precious moments from the proposal on Rosemary Beach, in Florida. A picturesque background with a sunset, Jared on one knee, and the newly engaged couple hugging and kissing each other. Just like a movie.

There aren’t many records of when Whittney, a former college softball player, and her now USAF Vet fiance, Jared, met. But by the Purdy family’s welcome to engagement, they must have been together for long.

Meanwhile, can you spot the 49ers’ No. 13? He too was present there on the 6th of July before posting about the same a day later on his story. You can see Brock and his wife, Jenna Purdy, in the video when it cuts to the shot of the family hugging and celebrating. The couple went in with a full summer outfit. While the 24-year-old star came to the beach with a striped T-shirt and white shorts, Jenna chose to wear a blue and white sleeveless dress with flowers imprinted on it.

This moment also marks 4 months to Brock and Jenna’s wedding. The couple tied the knot on March 9, 2024. As a newlywed himself, the 49ers star’s message holds extra meaning for Whittney and Jared, who can always turn to Brock for advice.

Aside from the proposal, there was another precious moment for you to see in the reel. It’s when the three siblings hugged each other.

Brock and Chubba embracing their emotional sister, sets a very clear picture of their bond. Before we talk about them let’s get a basic idea of the Purdy family. There are 5 members. Mama Purdy – Carrie, Papa Purdy- Shawn, and their three kids. Whittney is the eldest of the three, Brock is the middle one, and Chubba is the youngest. The three share an incredible bond.

Chubba Purdy’s real name is Preston, but Shawn thought this suited him better because of how big he was as a kid. And now, look at him following in Brock’s footsteps as a quarterback. If you can imagine them having a battle of their own, think no more. In an exclusive interview with the Arizona Republic, in 2019, the then 18-year-old college footballer said, “Ever since we were little, competition has been everything. We just always want to win, and we don’t like losing.” 

Despite facing ups and downs in his college football career, Chubba has credited Brock’s mentorship for helping him navigate his ship. Not only football’s but also life’s. Speaking to the Omaha World-Herald, Chubba said, “He’s just taught me so much.”

This dynamism needs backing. And that is provided to the boys by their beloved elder sister, Whittney. She is also a Niners fan and is often seen in the stands at Brock’s games with his wife, Jenna. Like they say, it starts from the family, and the Purdys know what it means to have a crucial foundation.

What else could Brock have asked for? But now, his sister needs him. Not just as a support, as she starts her new journey, but also to make her fiance feel welcomed.
