The QB debate is often the hottest one among all the media outlets. It’s also a hot topic amongst broadcasters and NFL pundits. The same is the case with Robert Griffin III, who tries his best to make a case for Brock Purdy’s prowess. On paper, Purdy is a better quarterback than Patrick Mahomes and Griffin pointed out the same thing, amongst many others.

In his latest post on X, RG3 does due diligence and tries to pay homage to Brock Purdy. His analysis and statements only take into account the 2023 season. While Patrick Mahomes is considered one of the GOATs of football, we can’t ignore the fact that Purdy took his team to a Super Bowl in his second league year. Perhaps this is what has RG3 in his feelings.

Well, not exactly. But he did say that the San Francisco 49ers QB did better than Patrick Mahomes this season. The Ravens ex-QB thinks that Purdy did better than Mahomes in terms of stats and based on the “films” he’s seen of the Niners QB.

Though he thinks Patrick Mahomes is in a league of his own for already winning two Lombardi’s, he thinks that this is Purdy’s year to shine, regardless of the outcome of the Super Bowl LVIII.

RGIII wrote on X,” If you base your opinion of Brock Purdy only off his stats this year, you will say he was the best QB in the NFL. If you base your opinion of Brock Purdy only off the film this year, you will say he was the best QB in the NFL.” And added, “Lamar was the MVP. Patrick Mahomes is the best in the Galaxy. Brock Purdy was the best this year regardless of what happens in the Super Bowl.”

So, what did Purdy do better than Mahomes this season?

This is a common pattern with Mahomes, where he really picks up his pace when it counts. Hopefully, he keeps the same spirit alive in the uphill battle against the Niners.
