Brock Purdy comes from a long line of athletes, which may explain why he has repeatedly proven his athletic prowess. This is Purdy’s Super Bowl debut, and if he wins, he will be one of the youngest quarterbacks to ever play in a Super Bowl game and win it. But that’s beside the point.

From being the 262nd overall pick to a Super Bowl contender in just two years, Purdy has come a long way. In the wake of the upcoming mega-event, we take a look at Purdy’s humble beginnings. Purdy grew up in Arizona and is the middle child of the family. He has an older sister, Whittney, and a younger brother, Preston (Chubba), who is following in the footsteps of his older brother.

Who are Brock Purdy’s siblings?

The Purdy siblings have been involved in sports from the start. It all began with Whittney Purdy, who played softball at a collegiate level. She went to Spartanburg Methodist College, SC, and later transferred to Southeastern University, FL, continuing her softball career. She may have ended her softball career with college because there isn’t much information about her professional sports career.

However, she is close to Purdy’s fianceé, Jenna Brandt, and they’ve even taken trips together to Colorado to celebrate Jenna’s bachelorette party. In an Instagram post, she announced, “So excited to be gaining the most sweetest sister in law! Love you both & Cheers to an amazing year ahead🥂💍,” welcoming Brandt to the Purdy family.

In a sense, Purdy got his prowess from his sister as he praised her arm strength. The San Francisco 49ers QB might have learned a thing or two watching his sister play third base and shortstop. And that might have trickled down to his younger brother as well.

His younger brother started his football career at Florida State in 2020 and then transferred to Nebraska in 2022. He was QB3 for the Cornhuskers for most of his time there. Nebraska TV reported that he would be moving to San Jose State soon, but SI debunked that, saying he would instead be moving to the Nevada Wolf Pack.

Preston Purdy got the nickname “Chubba” from his father because he was a big baby weighing 32 pounds in his first year. The nickname stuck around for him, and he thinks about permanently changing his name to “Chubba. ” He’s even known by this name professionally. Growing up, the Purdy brothers have always had a competitive relationship.

They grew up in an Arizona environment that valued nurturing kids through sports. They would go on summer camping trips, and Brock Purdy brought footballs. This translated into Purdy teaching his younger brother about “reading defenses.”

“My brother has helped me a ton in football and just reading defenses and just teaching me the game and I really appreciate that from him and with him because he’s had a ton of experience as well so he’s taught me so much,” he said.

It would have been exhilarating for Chubba to go to the woods and play football with his brother to watch him play the Super Bowl in his second season in the league. Hopefully, the younger one has some takeaways from Brock Purdy and transitions to the NFL. Despite being on different avenues, the sibling’s lives had always been stitched together by sports, and now, they are all doing their own thing.
