The Super Bowl countdown has begun. The teams are preparing to tick as many boxes as they can before the big showdown and so is the case with the 49ers QB, Brock Purdy. As the Purdy-led team faces the experienced Mahomes’ side, the 24-year-old could use all the advice he can get from the people who have played in the Super Bowl. It’s old news that he’s been called a “game manager” and such, all that’s left to be seen is whether he can shut his naysayers or not. That’s exactly what Jimmy Garoppolo thinks about the situation.
Garoppolo had been in the same situation as Brock Purdy when he played in the Super Bowl LIV against the Chiefs back in 2020. Perhaps the two might have also met to discuss strategies in private. But, whether it is true or not, Garoppolo’s recent advice to Brock might not be something out of the box. Nonetheless, the response might just be enough to do the job and give the Niners QB a direction.

The 2x Super Bowl champion did a pre-game analysis on the Super Bowl opening night. Why? Because he’s been there and has done it before (winning Super Bowls and playing for the Lombardi against the Chiefs).
After he was done, a reporter caught up with him and wanted to have his input on the upcoming game. Toward the end of it, the reporter asked Garoppolo to share some advice with Purdy.
“Keep it simple man. Just be yourself. That’s, I mean he’s played a hell of a year, you’ve got to remember what got you there and what you did, the routine to get you there. I think all those little things. Just be yourself, do what got you there, and let the rest take care of itself man let the chips fall as they may in Vegas,” said the Raiders QB.
Undeniably, the Super Bowl LVIII is going to be a mega show. And given the reputation of Purdy in the NFL world, this finale is crucial for the 24-year-old QB. Arguably, winning a Super Bowl might solidify his position further with the San Francisco 49ers.

First of all, it might lead to a salary negotiation. The Niners QB is one of the least-paid quarterbacks in the league. With an annual salary of just $870k, his contract is put to shame by other QBs such as Lamar Jackson ($260M) and Patrick Mahomes ($450M). At least, winning the Bowl will open that gate for Purdy.
Secondly, he might solidify his position in the team and the Niners might even name him as their franchise QB, just like Joe Burrow. This is a new dawn for Brock Purdy and one thing is for sure, he won’t be called Mr. Irrelevant after all of this anymore.
