Brittany Mahomes' Trump support: Brave stance or unnecessary controversy? What's your take?

The Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, doesn’t seem to catch a break when it comes to facing online criticism. Making headlines yet again for supposedly giving away her political allegiance in this year’s national election, the Chiefs QB’s wife was bombarded with negative comments.

Speaking about the situation that got the internet blowing up, Clay Travis, on his show Outkick, came out defending the Kansas City Current co-owner with a strong reference. “She evidently liked a post from Donald Trump, and people went bonkers. Came after her with a fury, and I just wanna point this out. Brittany Mahomes got more criticized than I saw for liking a post supporting Trump on Instagram than Steph Curry and Steve Kerr did,” Travis stated.

Well, the failed 50-day pudding strike owner might be right for the comparisons he has drawn against the harsh criticism subjected to Brittany. Citing Curry and Kerr’s appearance at the DNC, Travis added, “It was more acceptable to actually appear at the Democratic National Convention. And speak in person like Steve Kerr did. Or record a video message like Steph Curry than to merely like a Donald Trump post on Instagram, which is what Brittany Mahomes did.”

Brittany was subjected to heavy criticism after liking Trump’s social media post, that had topics like keeping men away from women’s sports and rebuilding cities. Some of the backlash the soccer mom received was, “Brittany Mahomes just outed herself as a Trump supporter.” While a few others referenced Patrick Mahomes, citing, “Imagine marrying someone who doesn’t care about your rights and your kid’s rights.”

But the three-time Super Bowl champion wife wasn’t ready to accept that criticism bowing down as she came up with her reply, “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed, and you hate to see others doing well.” However, this is not the first time Brittany has been the subject of negative comments, as her looks and personal milestones were also criticized by people online.

Brittany recently got the internet talking about re-visiting her redhead looks, which debuted back in April. Initially, she posted her hair transformation with the caption, “Feeling spicy,” which amazed a lot out there. And, within a few weeks, she got back to her blonde looks. But a few days back, she shared a throwback story on her Instagram that had hairstylist Laurabeth Cabott posting her redhead looks with the caption, “This was so fun.”

Well, the responses this time around weren’t so positive as Brittany clapped back with an Instagram story, “I mean honestly.” It seems like the Chiefs QB’s wife has had enough of the trolls while showing a stance against them. A similar incident took place when Brittany made her most-awaited debut for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

Expressing her emotions, Mahomes stated, “I’m here to tell you. People will dislike you. People will love you. Don’t let any of that define you. KEEP SHINING and being YOU.” Appreciating his wife’s inclusion in the 60th-anniversary issue of SI Swimsuit, Patrick Mahomes also expressed his excitement by reposting her story with three heart emojis. Although they have since been deleted or expired, it shows the bond the couple shares together.

With Brittany continuing to push back against her haters, can her husband do the same by leading the Chiefs to their historic 3-peat this season? Only time will tell as the power couple continues to win against haters both on the field and off the field.
