In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Jackson’s social media wishes added to the celebration. From being the best man at Patrick and Brittany’s destination wedding to coining the unique ‘Bronze’ nickname for the couple’s newborn son, Jackson’s involvement underscores the tight-knit bond behind this high-profile NFL clan.

The Chiefs’ power couple had plenty to celebrate on their second wedding anniversary. Patrick kicked things off by posting a photo with Brittany and the simple but sweet caption: “Year 2! Happy anniversary!“

Brittany reciprocated the love on her own Instagram, sharing a series of photos showcasing their journey as a couple with “Happy Anniversary to my forever.” Her stories provided an intimate look at their celebrations, from a lunch date complete with white roses and chocolates to Patrick toasting their marriage with a glass of wine.

While the lovebirds basked in their marital bliss, younger brother Jackson Mahomes chimed in to remind the world of their unbreakable family ties. Patrick’s post drew a gushing “awhhh mom and dad!!” from the 23-year-old, who has been an important part in Mahomes’ major life events.

Brittany’s photoshoot also caught Jackson’s eye, as he commented “awhh these photos are so good! Happy anniversary!!!❤❤” The admiring remarks exemplify how the former college athlete-turned-influencer has fully embraced his role as, arguably, the biggest fan of his older brother’s fairytale NFL life with Brittany.

From “friend-zoned” to parents

Well, before Patrick Mahomes became the youngest quarterback to earn Super Bowl MVP honors, he and Brittany were just a couple of Texas teenagers navigating young love. The pair met as students at Whitehouse High School, with Brittany one grade above her future husband.

As Patrick recounted in the Netflix docu-series Quarterback, he was firmly “in the friend zone” at first, trying to sidle up to Brittany by walking her to class and jokingly gifting her a rose on Valentine’s Day. However, the smooth move backfired as the cafeteria broke into chants of “Kiss her! Kiss her!” prompting Brittany to finally take notice of her bashful admirer.

“Then, boom, we just fell in love,” she recalled of that fateful moment. The high school sweethearts took their budding romance all the way to prom in 2013 before Brittany headed off to play soccer at the University of Texas Tyler, over 400 miles from Patrick’s college pitching days at Texas Tech.

Yet even as Patrick decided to forgo his senior year and enter the 2017 NFL Draft, landing in Kansas City Chiefs and launching his meteoric rise, Brittany remained his firmest support system. As the former pro soccer player-turned-fitness entrepreneur admitted in an interview with CBS Mornings in 2023, she was “not prepared” for how quickly they’d be “thrown into the fire” of NFL celebrity life.

From birthing two children – daughter Sterling and son Bronze – to partner in business ventures, Brittany has seamlessly evolved from Patrick’s teenage sweetheart to pillar of the Mahomes’ growing empire.
