Physical. Tough. Speed. If any NFL player tops these requirements, he is Brian Schottenheimer’s favorite. That’s what the Dallas Cowboys’ new head coach prioritizes. And what if a previously injured player, who is in rehab, possesses these qualities? Ah, that would definitely be the cherry on the cake for Schottenheimer, isn’t it?
So, here’s the positive update for Schottenheimer: Trevon Diggs is working hard to be back for the 2025 season. Last season, the CB had a rough time, as he suffered multiple injuries. However, when he tore his ACL on the same left knee (which also happened in 2023), Diggs had to exit the season. But the good thing is—he is back for some drills!
According to writer Brandon Loree on X, “#Cowboys Trevon Diggs going through his first week of weight bearing activities to regain balance and coordination.” In the shared videos, Diggs could be seen working out in full concentration, determined to be ready for the camp. So, yes, it’s true that, as Loree mentioned it correctly – “@TrevonDiggs is making progress (flexing biceps emoji).”

On March 22, Dr. Sharif Tabbah, the trainer at Alkemespottsrx, dropped the big update about Brian Schottenheimer’s CB’s performance in rehab. He wrote, “Big first day weight bearing vibes,” as the doctor revealed that Trevon Diggs is recovering well in his rehab. This shows Diggs is indeed the toughest. Despite dealing with multiple injuries, including season-ending traumas, he played 11 games last year. And the stats? Well, he recorded 35 tackles, 7 assists, and 32 solo.
And now, Diggs is trying hard to regain his speed. The speed and agility, which we have seen in his 40-yard dash time of 4.42 seconds. So, yeah, as he is back, it’s surely positive news for coach Brian Schottenheimer, who is also reportedly thinking of bringing his brother, Stefon Diggs, to the team.
Surprisingly, Stefon Diggs, who was traded to the Texans from Buffalo, too faced a tear in his ACL in 2024. The wide receiver is a free agent now, who is also recovering well like his younger brother Trevon. Bringing him into the team, Brian Schottenheimer will have two brothers showing their potential after their season-ending injuries. But the problem here is, if the Cowboys’ interest in Stefon picks up, they might step back if the bidding war gets too intense. And that would be a tough blow for fans hoping to see the Diggs brothers play together.
Well, that’s another debate. Until then, head coach Brian Schottenheimer will be happy to know Trevon Diggs’s physicality, toughness, and speed – all coming back in! Apart from that, the franchise is planning something meaningful and big for their linebacker, Micah Parsons.
What’s your perspective on:
Will the Diggs brothers redefine the Cowboys' defense, or is it just wishful thinking?
Have an interesting take?
Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys are ready to sign Micah Parsons?
For the past few weeks, the discussions regarding Micah Parsons’s anticipated contract extension have been making rounds. The linebacker is heading into the final season of his five-year rookie deal. He will earn approximately $24.007 million in 2025. His impact on the team—especially as the fifth player to record double-digit sacks in every season—proves he deserves a major payday.
That’s why Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, whom Parsons affectionately called “My Dawg,” and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer are eager to lock him in for the future.

Reports indicate that the owners and linebacker Micah Parsons have discussed contract proposals. Additionally, the speculation is that Brian Schottenheimer’s Cowboys are offering Parsons a “Cowboys for Life” deal, per CowboysCountry.com. This could potentially make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. So, how much is he set to earn?
