The Philadelphia Eagles are having an identity crisis as of now. With the unceremonious exit in the wild-card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many expected that wholesale changes were coming to the Eagles’ staff. But is head coach Nick Sirianni safe?
A season that started with a lot of promise. The Eagles had two 5-game winning streaks at their record of 10-1. And then all hell broke loose. The Eagles went on to lose 6 of their last 7 matches. Is the head coach’s head next on the chopping block?

At the beginning of the season, the offensive coordinator was Brian Johnson. And as with every other department, the offense was working brilliantly until the tail end of the season. Now, with the OC being fired, he will be joining the former defensive coordinator in the employment line.
#Eagles informed OC Brian Johnson that he won’t be back in 2024, as @RealDGunn said. For the second straight offseason, Philadelphia is looking for a new OC and DC — this time for entirely different reasons. pic.twitter.com/H5qjhkyVt3

Previously, Sirianni himself had effectively fired his DC Sean Desai. He demoted the 40-year-old during the first three losses among the 6. He then promoted the 49-year-old Matt Patricia to the new job.
However, Patricia’s contract was up, and he wasn’t fired. Along with the official firing of Desai, the Philly team currently has neither their DC nor the OC. So with these extensive changes done, is the 42-year-old head coach safe?
Records are in the past for the Eagles
Both OC Johnson and DC Desai have had plenty of success in the past, but Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie ignored that. The 72-year-old fired them both and Sirianni’s glorious history can also be ignored.

However, with both the coordinators fired in quick succession, it could also be the case that all the faults have been placed on them. And Sirianni has safeguarded his job, at least for one more season. Only time will tell what’s in store for the head coach.
