The Giants‘ hunt for a new quarterback is still not complete. Yeah, it’s still going. Initially, speculation was that the team would sign a major quarterback once the new league year began. However, they currently only have one quarterback on their roster, Tommy DeVito. The rumors have been that the team is currently moving slowly in its quest for a quarterback because of Aaron Rodgers. The veteran QB has received numerous offers and is taking his time deciding on the best option. But it looks like the Giants’ tendency to wait is over.

New York has already begun the search for a starting QB. Everyone knows that the team had a meeting with Russell Wilson, but it did not go well. And it looks like the next QB to join the team’s front office is a former number-one overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Can you recall who it was? Yup! It’s Jameis Winston. The 31-year-old QB is on his way to the Giants, and if the meeting goes well, the organization will most likely cancel its ambitions to sign Aaron Rodgers.

The reports claimed, Free-agent QB Jameis Winston is scheduled to visit the #Giants on Tuesday, per sources. While the New York braintrust waits for Aaron Rodgers’ decision, it‘s continuing to visit with alternatives: Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson, and now Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick.” These QBs are indeed the best available in free agency, and they have the potential to significantly elevate the Giants. But consider this: what if the team fails to sign a contract with any of them?

Well, in that case, the team still has one last great backup option. Actually, the franchise has the third pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. This means that they will almost certainly be able to select huge QBs from CFB, such as Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. All of these reasons indicate that, despite the delay caused by Aaron Rodgers, New York remains on track. The squad can definitely recover from their QB search and make 2025 significantly better than last year.

And when it comes to Rodgers, the Giants have the option to drop every plan of signing him. After all, he hopes to be joining one of the NFL’s massively followed teams.

Aaron Rodgers could be heading to Kevin O’Connell’s roster

Despite having a disastrous 2024 season, Rodgers’ image in the league is still top-notch. The man remains the one veteran with whom every team attempts to secure a deal. And that’s what is happening right now. Massive teams like the Vikings, Steelers, and Giants have made offers to Rodgers. But as expected, the 41-year-old is delaying his decision. And, while the quarterback has yet to accept an offer, his prospects of joining the Vikings have significantly improved.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Jameis Winston the right choice for the Giants, or should they hold out for Aaron Rodgers?

Have an interesting take?

Mike Silver from The Athletic was on the Just Your Opinion, Man podcast when Rodgers’ subject came up. While discussing A-Rod, Silver began to explain what was going on behind the scenes for the veteran QB. He claimed that there is a lot of confusion about him, but there is a 50/50 possibility that he will definitely move to Minnesota. Silver has some folks there who have confirmed that Rodgers’ onboarding has been looking much better in recent weeks.

Silver explained, “Some people who are who are pretty familiar with what is going on in that building have told us it’s literally 50-50 in their eyes.”If this is true, then it will be interesting to see Aaron Rodgers wear purple on the field this season. But there is still a 50% probability. And everyone knows how unpredictable A-Rod is, so nothing can be assumed just now. It’s the second week of the new league year, so Rodgers should pick a team soon.
