The 7-4 Pittsburgh Steelers are going against the 2-10 Arizona Cardinals right now. While the game is nearing its end, the Steelers continue to remain in a troubled position. While the Cardinals were quick to assert their dominance in play during the game, another thing just pushed it in their favor. QB Kenny Pickett might not be fit enough to continue throughout the game.
The tweet from Ian Rapoport broke the hearts of many Steelers fans as Pickett left the game prematurely and his chances to return to the field are close to none. It is questionable whether the replacement QB would be able to come in clutch when the Steelers need him the most. For now, things are looking bleak for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers’ offense as they need a miracle to save them.

Pickett was hit later in the first half of the week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals. As described by Rapoport, Pickett ran for the goal line but unfortunately took a hit and was slow to get up. He seemed to be in pain but managed to make it to the medical tent on his own. His return to the game remains questionable at the moment.

The QB1 has an injured ankle, which also bothered him in the week 12 game against the Bengals. Mitch Trubisky is now the replacement quarterback for Kenny Pickett. Before leaving the game, the Steelers QB1 managed to make 8 out of 11 passes for 75 yards.
He also set up a 38-yard pass to George Pickens, which also resulted in Chris Boswell going for a field goal. Pickett appeared to be in pain, and in the last game against the Bengals, he was seen with some extra padding in the SNF game against the Bengals.
The question looming over the heads remains, will Pickett’s absence push the Steelers into a corner?

Pickett is known for his ability to clinch close games. A study on Steelers Depot dives deep into how Kenny Pickett is the most reliable in the last quarter of the game. To add to that, the Steelers are one of the few teams who go all or nothing in the last quarter. A study comprising 34 top QBs in the NFL, yields exciting EPA (Expected Points Added) statistics.
The crux of it is that the Steelers QB ranks 3 in the 4 quarter play in terms of EPA (0.26), and he is the only QB in the NFL to put up below-average stats in the first 3 quarters of the game. Per this study, he ranks 30 out of 34 in terms of first to third-quarter plays. So, with the lack of Pickett’s 4 quarter-clutch magic, will the Steelers be able to steal this game?
