The Chargers’ situation has complicated and potentially killed their playoff chances with the latest loss. But their most demotivating update has come half a day later. Quarterback Justin Herbert is likely done for the season after fracturing his right index finger during the game.
Earlier head coach Brandon Staley informed about the fracture at the post-game conference, while he was still undergoing tests. Now, NFL insider Ian Rapoport has informed the latest break on his social media. Rapoport also underlined that the final update will come only after he gets his MRI report later in the day.

In what seemed to be a case of stomping, Herbert felt the discomfort in his finger after the second-quarter incident. He even looked at his finger for a moment before going back to play. Ultimately, he couldn’t continue and had to be taken off, and now with the breaking, we know exactly why.

Rapoport also informed that the Texans’ QB, CJ Stroud, has officially entered the NFL’s concussion protocol after taking a hit during the Jets game. This halts the rookie QB’s rapid progress, who was being deemed as one of the frontrunners for the league MVP this season.
