Bo Nix has been the center of attention in the NFL world for many reasons. Since Peyton Manning retired, the Denver Broncos have used 13 starters. However, with the approach Nix has adopted this preseason, their fortunes may be changed from the ground up. Sean Payton appears to also appreciate the same and identified young Nix as a critical component, “someone who he can win with,” for the team’s improved performance.
Sean Payton’s strategic acumen and ability to develop stars, previously having trained big names such as Koy Detmer, Bobby Hoying, and Rodney Peete, is a resume that speaks for itself. This year, it appears that Payton is focusing on his strengths and has appreciated Nix, among other things. Bo Nix has filled a key position on the squad, and Payton appears to keep emphasizing this fact.
Sean Payton stated in an interview with the Denver Post, “There is a lot of attention on Bo, understandably so when you draft a quarterback in the first round. Every one of us recognizes the significance of getting that position settled and having someone at that position who we feel like we can win with. When that is unsettled, it’s tough on your team.”

Many think that the Broncos are a team in transition, however, Payton hasn’t ever posted fewer than 7 victories a season. His thinking is also fully consistent with Nix’s approach. Nix finished with an 80.4 PFF overall grade in the preseason. But the young gun was responsible for 33.3% of his pressured dropbacks, a rate that has to be lowered. But give it time, will you?
Payton has underlined the value of competition while bringing out the best in players. He feels that uncertain circumstances, while hard, provide an opportunity for players to demonstrate their true value. Aside from all of this, Payton and Nix’s partnership would be extremely helpful to the young quarterback’s future.
Sean Payton’s leadership can help Bo Nix shine brightly
We all know that for Bo Nix, joining a team like the Broncos under a coach like Payton may be the perfect fit. Nix can flourish under pressure and when this is paired with Payton’s talent for developing quarterbacks, it creates an interesting combination. Even the Owner and CEO of the team Greg Penner appreciated the young QB, stating, “I’ve been really impressed with his poise and maturity.”

“That’s something about starting that many games in college that obviously develops that, and I think he’s got some incredible traits. It was great to see how he played in the first two preseason games. I had a chance to call him after Sean announced that he’d be the starting quarterback,” Penner concluded.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Bo Nix be the game-changer the Broncos need, or is he just another hopeful?

As the Denver Broncos deal with the uncertainty of their roster, Nix’s mindset might serve as an example for others. Fans can be really happy with this, as it can lead the team to greatness. The young gun can process information quickly, which frees him up to get the team in and out of the huddle, leaving time to dissect the defense if necessary. Bo gets rid of the ball in a blink of an eye and even Payton admitted, “Watching his college tape was calming.”
