Could Bo Nix’s Broncos draft lead to a Drew Brees comeback? Just a day ago, the 24-year-old ended up being selected by Denver to join their team. Now, former Ravens QB, Robert Griffin III sat down with the athlete to get to know him a little better. Throughout the NFL Combine, he had earned comparisons to the Saints’ former quarterback, Brees.

RG3 claimed that the two could work well together. Shortly after it was announced that Bo Nix was officially a Broncos man, Robert Griffin threw it back to a recent episode of RG3 and The Ones. During the episode, the former Oregon star opened up about his dream of working under Sean Payton.

With the coach being known for taking Drew Brees to his full potential, it ended up with the host pleading with the 60-year-old to bring him back. In the clip on X (formerly Twitter), the former quarterback stated, “I would implore Sean Payton, drastically, with everything in me, to bring Drew Brees for you. So you can spend a couple of months with him.”

Brees coming out of retirement might be a dream come true for most fans. However, that dream might be a little too out of reach for everyone. Although at the moment it looks like the 24-year-old seems more focused on paying attention to the one that did come true, his draft into the Denver Broncos.

While Nix had been vocal about his hopes of joining the Broncos, he was not the only one who wound up celebrating the selection.

Bo Nix’s wife is overjoyed over his Broncos draft

On Thursday night, Bo Nix sat with his wife, Izzy Smoke Nix, and his family as he waited for his name to be called. While they all sat together when the call came, it was not until moments later that the official announcement followed. Shortly after the draft happened, the former Auburn alum shared a happy snap of the duo. However, she was wearing a Broncos hat.

In another clip that made its way online, Nix could be seen screaming for joy when her husband’s name was called as Denver’s pick. With the couple being college sweethearts, it was no wonder that she was as excited as he was for the most important call of his life.

Nix told the Denver Broncos, “I’m super excited. I already love this place.” He even added that before it had happened, the 24-year-old knew it was where he wanted to be. The quarterback even stated that the pick “meant a lot” to him. After all, he had worked extremely hard to reach where he was at.

The team might have made a great choice with Nix. However, the second round of the draft saw them diversify their roster with defensive playmaker Jonah Elliss. With one final round left to go, it will be interesting to see who the Broncos go with for their final pick.
