Is Jordan Love the future of the Packers, or will he crumble under the pressure of Rodgers' legacy?

Go big or go home – and Jordan Love just went big, taking a huge payday back to his home turf! The Green Bay Packers have locked down their ‘next-in-line’ star QB with a 4-year extension worth a record-smashing $220M. Having received the deal, he showed gratitude to the Gang Green legend and his mentor Aaron Rodgers for the guidance that helped him snag this deal.

Speaking to the press on July 27th, Jordan Love finally opened up about his new contract, and he did it with the poise of a seasoned quarterback in the pocket. He wasted no time thanking A-Rod for all the support since being drafted as a rookie in 2020 until the 2022 season, when Rodgers was still in Green Bay. “I mean, obviously, I was blessed and fortunate to be behind one of the best to do it [Aaron Rodgers]. And, I learned so much with my time with Aaron,” Love said. The 25-year-old added that he learned much from his time with the future Hall of Famer.

Let’s roll back the time. Four years ago, when the Packers snagged Love as the 26th overall pick in 2020, he was flattered to be behind Aaron. I’m already knowing I can learn a lot from Aaron Rodgers,” he said. Now, look at him flourishing. Talk about the touchdown of the mentor-mentee bond!

But Jordan Love didn’t stop there. He played the waiting game, seizing his chance. And it wasn’t until last season when Rodgers hopped on a jet to the Big Apple that he got the opportunity. Now, he’s ready to march the Packers down the field. With Rodgers in New York, Love is eager to prove he’s more than a sideline sitter. “There were a lot of questions going into last year. I just had to go out there with my team and be the best player I could be. Have my play speak for itself,” Packers’ jersey number 10 said.

In 2023, Love’s playbook had fans reminiscing about A-Rod’s first season as a starter in 2008.

Love’s not just riding the pine anymore; he’s aiming for MVP status and taking the Packers to new heights. And with the new contract reading as huge as it is, the expectations are nothing below that!

But hold on! With that record payday, can Gang Green finally savor the sight of him running drills in camp? The team’s head coach, Matt LaFleur, broke the huddle and delivered the status quo to the media.

Is Jordan Love secretly putting in reps behind the scenes?

Imagine being under the tutelage of someone like Aaron Rodgers. You’d be nothing short of what Jordan Love has become. On the gridiron and off it! Since the Packers training camp kicked off on July 22nd, Love’s been a no-show. The reason? His agents informed the team that he wouldn’t be suiting up until his contract extension was in place. Talk about throwing a Hail Mary!

Now that the extension issue has been tackled, one that’s broken the league’s salary cap charts, the media was bound to blitz for updates on the pre-season camp situation. Coach LaFleur cleared the air, in the press conference, saying, “He [Love] has been doing reps, it’s just you guys haven’t been seeing it!” A real trick play from the coach’s playbook, turning the situation around with some wit.
