Come on! The San Francisco 49ers again had a bad night while playing their Week 15 game. Not bad, but to be precise – they were washed by the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football at their home ground at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
6-12! That’s it? Well, Kyle Shanahan and his team arguably looked crooked in many of the plays. But when Deebo Samuel dropped the football in a key play, it literally dropped the 49ers’s playoff hopes. This resulted in frustration for Kyle Shanahan. And as the camera panned towards him after this drop, the head coach was seen walking with his head down in disappointment.
Now, here’s the twist! This reaction was immediately captured by Jimmy Garoppolo’s brother, Billy Garoppolo, as he shared the same on his Instagram story. While sharing the screenshot of Kyle Shanahan’s reaction image, he wrote a two-word message, “Offensive Guru (with laughing emojis)” in the caption.

Wow! That’s a direct troll towards Shanahan from Jimmy Garoppolo’s brother. The NFL quarterback joined the Rams on March 19, 2024. So, it was obvious for his brother to take a dig at the rival team. But that’s not where the story ends! It seems the previous revenge might also have led him to hate the 44-year-old.
Revenge? Yeah, Billy’s brother, Jimmy Garoppolo played for the Niners under head coach Kyle Shanahan from 2017 to 2022. Although he led the team to the NFC Championship game in 2022 and a Super Bowl appearance in 2019, his inability to remain healthy triggered the 49ers to part ways with him. Probably, that’s the reason why Billy doesn’t like coach Kyle Shanahan.
Nevertheless, besides that, what happened with Deebo Samuel’s play wasn’t liked either by the HC or the 49ers’s community.
Kyle Shanahan didn’t expect this from Deebo Samuel – or was it expected?
This week on social media, people were lashing out at Deebo Samuel saying the wide receiver is struggling these days. But Samuel came up with a reply on Monday: “Not struggling at all just not getting the b–ll!!!!!!!” Hmm, fair enough! He tried to open up on why he has just managed to get 97 yards from scrimmage over the past four games. He acknowledged the struggles of getting targets, reflecting on how those explosive plays that once defined his All-Pro season in 2021 seem to have diminished.

So, the Niners this time decided to make him the key target in the Rams’s game. But what happened? The trust was broken. It happened what they feared. He dropped a crucial catch when the 49ers were tied with the Rams at 3 in the third quarter. As a result, the crowd erupted in boos! This made Kyle Shanahan disappointed, who later in a press conference said, “That was a big one. Third down, and with Deebo’s skillset, it was a sh–t and we didn’t score on the play. Deebo clearly needs to catch that b-ll.”
Kyle Shanahan made it clear that despite the defense and special teams playing fair, the team’s offense didn’t play well in the week 15 matchup!
