6 tackles, 1 pass defended, 2 and a half sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 quarterback hurries. That’s what Von Miller came up with in Super Bowl LV for the Broncos in 2016, winning the game MVP Award. Again, in Super Bowl LVI in 2022, he took Rams to the victory with 2 sacks. But while playing in the league for over a decade, he observed another team making strides. The Chiefs under head coach Andy Reid.

So while his Bills teammates are preparing for the AFC Championship game, he warned them about the rivals’ tactics. He said, “I’ve noticed Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid and all those guys, if it takes six touchdowns to win the game, then that’s what they’ll do. If it’s only two, that’s what they’ll do. They’re really just focusing on winning the game.” Von Miller was spot-on in his analysis.

We’ve seen it over the years. During the wildcard playoff game against the Texans, they were behind 24-0 by the 2nd quarter itself. What do you expect from a team? To give up. But the Chiefs wouldn’t be here if they quit that easily. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce led the 4th biggest comeback in the league’s playoff history. While the QB recorded 23 of 35 passes for 321 yards and 5 TDs, the TE had 10 receptions for 134 yards and 3 TDs, winning the game 51-31.

There’s another factor that most people are ignoring from the last Super Bowl. But Von Miller didn’t. There are many quiet difference makers in the Chiefs. In the 4th quarter in Super Bowl LVIII, LB Leo Chenal blocked Jake Moody‘s PAT kick. It helped the Chiefs ultimately as they equalized with a field goal. Chenal repeated the same in the week 10 game against the Broncos this year. He blocked Wil Lutz‘s FG kick in the last second, winning the game 16-14.

Patrick Mahomes was so excited with the victory that he ran on the sidelines, hyping up the crowd. That’s what the Bills LB recognized as a key moment. And the QB is a perennial threat.

Can Mahomes achieve a three-peat like Kobe, or will the Bills halt the Chiefs' dynasty?

Von Miller compares Chiefs QB to NBA legend

The man who changed everything at the Chiefs is one man, Patrick Mahomes. Ever since Andy Reid arrived there in 2014, he has taken them to playoffs every year, except for his first. But in the first 4 playoffs, they lost. However, everything changed in 2019 when they won the Super Bowl. It’s a domination only Tom Brady displayed.

Von Miller has seen both players. But he went one step ahead while praising the Grim Reaper and compared him to Kobe Bryant by saying, “He’s just one of those players like Kobe (Bryant) like he’s going to score his shots, he’s going to score his points, no matter if you have two guys on him, one guy on him, no matter if you’re playing man zone, if you’re rushing him, like he’s going to make plays.

That’s something everyone will agree with. He never gives up, no matter what the situation is. Even after losing the week 11 game against the Bills, Mahomes told Josh Allen, “We’re going to do it again, baby.” But wait, is Von Miller hinting at something else here?

The Lakers legend achieved a 3-peat from 2000 to 2002, which the Chiefs superstar is aiming for this year. The comparison will truly become memorable if he completes it. But for that to happen, they need to win 2 more games. One first. Then another. Can the Bills stop the threats that Von Miller has identified?
