Nobody told us that Clark Kent moved to Buffalo! But Jokes aside, Josh Allen really gave a Superman-like performance in the matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. That leaping touchdown from Allen was a sight to behold. But bad things tend to follow good times. That stands true for the Bills QB, who injured his finger in the game.

The 35-10 landslide win against the Bay Area team has put him ahead of everyone else in the MVP conversation this year, even Patrick Mahomes. There are 5 games left to play in the regular season, but before that, Allen might have to nurse the injury he suffered to his finger. Nick Veronica, the News 4 Buffalo correspondent, commented on the video of what happened to the Bills QB.

Josh Allen opens up about his injury

The video shows Allen trying to scramble for a down when the 49ers LB De’Vondre Campbell bear-hugged him, and the rest of the 49ers followed. Allen seemed to be shaken up by the injury as he was jumping up and down while holding his hand left palm. Where or how he hit his finger is hard to tell right now.

Per Veronica, Allen had “no feeling” In his finger for a few plays. That’s understandable because the Highmark Stadium looked like the North Pole on Sunday. Cold usually makes internal injuries worse. But Allen addressed the media after the game and quoted, “It was bad … feels like your hands on fire.” That’s kind of ironic because he felt a burning sensation in his hands with all that snow around him.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Josh Allen the real MVP this season, or is Mahomes still the king of the hill?

Have an interesting take?

This injury came in the first quarter after Jake Moody nailed in a kick for 3 points. Apparently, the Bills QB has been wearing a glove on his left hand ever since he suffered an injury to his left hand in the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. But leaving the past injuries aside, Allen contributed to 108 consecutive starts, which is the longest streak for a QB in the NFL.

With this win, the Buffalo Bills have clinched a playoff spot with 5 games remaining in the regular season and it seems like Josh Allen is gunning for Patrick Mahomes’s spot. If anything, this will make their exciting rivalry spicier than ever.

Bills’ QB makes a bold claim

Allen, who recently got engaged to his fiancé, Hailey Steinfeld, looked happy on and off the field. The 148-yard, 2TD performance just intensified those emotions. Now, the QB has his eyes set on the one seed. He understandably feels relieved now that his team has made it to playoffs this early. That’s a strong improvement since the last year, considering how people were throwing shade at the Bills after Stefon Diggs left.

After the game, though, Allen made his intentions clear. “We can play free….but we’re chasing the one seed,” the Bills QB said in the post-game. They’re playing the Rams on December 9 and the Lions after that. These are the two games that Allen and the boys need to be wary of. The last three games, 2 against the Patriots and one against the Jets might be easy wins.

Their conference rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs were the first team to clinch a playoff berth after beating the Raiders in the Black Friday game. The KC team is 11-1 now and will meet the Buffalo Bills (10-2) somewhere down the line. It remains to be seen how that game will go. Surprisingly, Allen is ahead of Mahomes in the regular season (3-1). But when it comes to the playoffs, Mahomes has always had an upper hand with a 3-0 record.

Considering how the Bills are playing this season, it might not be far-fetched to consider that they might win in the playoffs against KC this year. Whether the game will be at GEHA or Highmark still remains at large. However, it’s safe to say that #17 has proved the haters wrong. Now that Allen and the Bills have a lot less on their minds, they can concentrate on what’s left of the season and prepare for the playoffs.
