Well! We expected the Bills vs Chiefs AFC Championship game to be thrilling. But it was more wild than anyone ever expected. In the 2nd quarter, the rookie receiver Xavier Worthy and FS Cole Bishop jumped to catch the ball. Bishop had the ball in his grasp, but Worthy managed to get the ball in his arms. Replays clearly showed the bill hit the ground, meaning none of the players completed the catch. Surprise! Surprise!

The referees gave the catch in Worthy’s favor. And Patrick Mahomes & co. ended that drive with a touchdown. It was like adding salt to the wounds of Bills’ mafia. But with that decision, the rumors of the referee bias for the Chiefs got stronger. They were shocked, unable to believe what had just happened. Clete Blakeman, once termed a hot ref, was under immense fire.

However, that wasn’t the only highlight for Xavier Worthy in the game. He showed his worth by scoring a touchdown before this incident. 2 minutes before this controversial catch, he caught an 11-yard touchdown pass to finish in the end zone. His first postseason touchdown in the NFL!

The 1st round 28th overall pick of the 2024 draft has been nothing less than a wonder boy. With great support from Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and others, he finished his rookie regular season with 17 games (13 starters). In those games, he recorded 59 receptions for 638 receiving yards with 6 TDs. His rushing game was also fire with 3 TDs in 103 yards. While he didn’t get much success against Texans with 5 receptions for 45 yards without a TD, the catch marred his incredible play against the Bills.

Entire social media got filled with football fans trolling the league and the Chiefs. It was hilarious.

What’s your perspective on:

Did the refs just hand the game to the Chiefs, or was it a fair call?

Bills fans troll referee after Xavier Worthy’s controversial catch

One fan had a simple 4-word message perfectly describing his feelings that read, “That game is rigged.” The fact that no player had complete control of the ball, and it also hit the ground, was enough to miff the fans. Another person was also angry with the decision and tweeted, “It was either an interception or incompletion. There’s no way the Chiefs receiver caught that.” The catch was indeed mysterious. Both seem to have sandwiched the pigskin.

The replays showed that Cole Bishop had two hands on the ball, while Xavier Worthy had only one. One fan pointed this fact out by mentioning, “1 hand on the ball full arm extension vs two hands on it pulling to your chest and ball bounces off ground and still somehow gifted to the Chiefs lol” Almost everyone in the Bills mafia had some choice words for the Chiefs.

No one could understand the logic behind the referee’s decision. And today’s decision to give the ball to the Chiefs just fueled the bias rumors. One fan claimed the refs were helping the home team and tweeted, “Refs – AGAIN – will help Chiefs win.” The Arrowhead was filled with red, but the refs didn’t get any love from the angry fans. Another angry Bills mafia member wrote, “How you gonna say entire had possession and still say that worthy caught the ball? Refs love the chiefs.
