If the nickname ‘Cheetah’ wasn’t enough, Tyreek Hill just got compared to a World War II fighter plane! No amount of planning is enough to catch this Miami Dolphins speedster. These are not our words, rather they’re coming from Bill Belichick’s confidante and the former New England Patriots researcher, Ernie Adams.

The veteran coach had an anecdote to share about Tyreek Hill when he started playing with the Kansas City Chiefs. This might be an underrated, yet controversial fact, but a lot of credit to Mahomes’ early success in the league goes to the Cheetah. However, this story is about the time when Patrick Mahomes wasn’t even a starter for the KC Chiefs.

“The world just changed when something just went by you that fast,” said Adams. “That was Tyreek Hill, yeah. All those other players are playing in fourth gear and Hill’s playing in sixth gear……It’s like those guys were flying the famous United States fighter plane, World War two Is the P-51.”

Adams later added, “They came in, first game of the year in 2017 and they just lit our defense up. I mean, it was a track meet.” The 2017 regular season opener that Ernie Adams spoke about was an embarrassing defeat for Tom Brady’s Patriots. But this time around, Mahomes wasn’t in the picture. It was Alex Smith throwing lasers to the Cheetah.

Hill completed 7/8 of his passes and went for a lone touchdown in that game while amassing 133 yards. In that game, Hill ran at 20.82mph on his 75-yard touchdown catch! But there was another man on the Kansas City Chiefs who crossed Hill’s speed barrier that day. It was the RB Kareem Hunt, who achieved a top speed of 20.84mph on his 58-yard run. The Pats lost that game 42-17.

Later on, Hunt even praised Tyreek Hill, saying, “They call him Cheetah for a reason.” Tyreek Hill has been setting the NFL ablaze ever since he entered the league. He’s one of the highest-paid receivers in the league, but that’s old news. Right now, Tyreek Hill just became the No. 1 player in the NFL’s top 100 list.

The NFL cannot keep the Cheetah locked up

To start things off, Tyreek Hill became the first receiver to be named the no. 1 player in NFL history. He changed the narrative of a quarterback being the most important player on the roster. Hill was in disbelief when he got to know that he had come out on top. He lifted Raheem Mostert up and was screaming and shouting at the top of his lungs. That’s a normal reaction to be declared no. 1 receiver in the history of the game.

He looked at the trophy just to double-check again and the first thing he did was to call his mother and let her know. “Mom, guess what, bruh? Guess who number one in the NFL, guess who got voted number one by his peers in the NFL? Tyreek mother-chucking Hill baby!”

Well, at some point, Hill mentioned that he was about to pass out from all the excitement. A lot of new doors are about to open up for Tyreek Hill. He promised to have 2k yards last season, but that goal took a backseat due to his injuries. Maybe he will do it this year. A hearty congratulations to Tyreek Hill for cementing his legacy in the NFL!
