Bill Belichick trolling Eli and Foles—Is this the spark the Patriots need for another Super Bowl run?

There haven’t been a lot of times when Bill Belichick was on the losing end of a Super Bowl title. The former Patriots coach had all but 3 Super Bowl losses in his career. But, the veteran isn’t one to forget about these despite the low numbers. In light of the same, he was invited by the Manning Brothers to comment on the Eagles-Falcons MNF Game where Eli Manning tried to rub salt on Belichick’s wounds.

Eli Manning wanted the former coach’s reaction on the 41-33 loss to the Eagles back in 2018 and “Oh no,” were the first words that came out of Belichick’s mouth. Eli clarified that the bigger brother Peyton put him up to the challenge of asking whether Belichick has a dartboard with Eli Manning and Nick Foles’ photos on it.

The 8x Super Bowl winner played along with the shenanigans and had a humorous answer ready for the Manning brothers. “Yeah, I got three dartboards. Two of you and one of Foles. Yeah, I got three.” The answer was enough to make the Manning brothers chuckle as Belichick showcased his humorous side.

You know the most exciting and flawless season in Bill Belichick’s tenure? It was the 2007 season when Belichick and Brady’s Patriots went 16-0, when Brady threw for 4,806 yards and 50 touchdowns in a season. Just imagine how much the loss would have hurt Belichick and Brady. Belichick stayed modest with the media after the loss but aired his frustration on Brady later.

“I mean, look, they played well,” Belichick said of the 17-14 Super Bowl loss in 2008 against the Giants. “They made some plays. We made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did.” While Brady was enthusiastic about his 16 regular season wins and 2 more in the playoffs, he reported the Belichick wasn’t impressed with the feat at all. Coincidentally, this was also the time when Belichick, Kraft and the others were accused of Spygate against the Jets.

“In 2007, I think we had one of the greatest football teams ever to play. We went 18-0, and then we lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl. Over the course of that season, we were blowing teams out,” Brady said. “And every Monday after the game, coach Belichick would be, ‘We sucked on defense. We can’t cover a kick. We’re 4-of-8 on third down. We’re a joke.’ And I’m like, ‘We won by 35 points.

Eli Manning and his Giants defeated the Pats once again in the 2011 season. The 21-17 defeat became another thorn in the bush for Bill Belichick. However, this time, he went a bit easy on the media and his own players. The New York Giants football team is something that Belichick respects so much and he simply praised them.

“Can’t fault the effort of any of our players. They played as hard as they could, we could have just played a tiny bit better. It was obviously a very competitive football game,” Belichick said after the defeat. Finally, let’s take a look at what happened on February of 2018 after the 41-33 defeat in the Super Bowl LII against Nick Foles and his Eagles.

Again, Belichick expressed his “disappointment” and mentioned how his team “came up a little bit short.” Surprisingly, Belichick took the fall for the defeat saying, “In the end, we just couldn’t quite make enough plays, and that was all on me.”

But Belichick’s football career is long over and now, he just focuses on giving more insights on how the game of football is correctly played. Let’s have a look at some of Belichick’s insights on the Eagles-Falcons game.

We’re done with the history lesson so let’s jump back to the present Eagles-Falcons game. The game had just started, and Belichick had some notes for the Manning boys. It was the Eagles’ fourth and four and upon the snap, Saquon Barkley ran into the D-Line and got knocked down. Belichick’s hilarious take on the situation made the Manning brother chuckle.

“Hold on! Just watch Barkley,” Belichick exclaimed. “They hit him. No, that’s, what’s his name, Carter coming around with good awareness and saw Barkley going through the line of scrimmage and knocked his a—down.” While the Manning Brothers chuckled at Belichick’s harsh assessment, everyone in the room was in for a surprise as the Falcons clinched a last moment win against the Eagles.
