The New England Patriots are in a state of turmoil. After a dismal 3-10 season and being out of the playoffs contention, the rumor mill has started. Per rumors, HC Bill Belichick could be fired at the end of the year. Will he find a job with the Los Angeles Chargers?

After a horrific game against the Las Vegas Raiders in which the Chargers lost 21-63, heads have rolled. Chargers have let go of both head coach Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco. At the Patriots, both positions have been held by one man. So, is Belichick the ideal candidate to be replaced at the helm of the Chargers?

Bill Belichick fits the bill

Belichick has been with the Patriots since 2000 and has won six Super Bowls. The 71-year-old is one of the greatest coaches of all time. However, his recent performance and roster decisions have raised doubts about his ability to lead the team to another championship. But fans believe he is the right man for the job.

But neither Belichick nor the owner Robert Kraft has stated anything regarding the future. However, many see the writing on the wall for the veteran HC. Kraft is known to be unpredictable and ruthless when it comes to his franchise. Earlier, these brutal decisions were taken with Belichick, but maybe this time it could be for Belichick.

Belichick, on several occasions, has hinted that he doesn’t want to stop just now. So if Kraft and the Patriots end up parting ways with him, he does have a place he can call home now. And the Chargers will bring a lot to the table for Belichick as well.

He is likely to have more control over the personnel decisions. A final say on the roster and the draft, while the Chargers will have his experience and leadership in these matters. But apart from these, there is one more factor that will tilt the balance, Rookie of the Year 2020, Justin Herbert.

Belichick could have a chance to work with Herbert. Considered one of the most promising young QBs in the league. The 25-year-old will no doubt benefit immensely from Belichick’s coaching and mentoring.
