Things are finally taking a turn for the good of the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow is finally united with his Super Bowl receivers-Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The WR agreed to the franchise tag and is practicing as expected. But there’s one more thing that the Bengals are looking forward to, which is being the face of HBO’s Hard Knocks for the third time.
The Bengals fans and experts are evidently excited about Burrow being able to sling the ball once again after the nasty wrist injury that he sustained a couple of months ago. Bridget Condon of the NFL Insiders has also been “shocked and excited” about what’s going on in the camp. However, Brian Baldinger soon countered this excitement with a cold truth about the Bengals making a comeback this season.

Excitement is in the air about Joe Burrow’s return to the field and Condon’s source believes that the QB was having “no issues” dealing with the mini-camp. But the football field is full of unscripted blitzes, so his progress is still to be verified. That’s going to happen when the season starts. For now, Burrow’s “accuracy and velocity,” are on par with his previous self.
“He’s working back from that wrist injury and one person in the building that I talked to this week told me that they felt like it was no issue during minicamp,” said Condon and added, “His accuracy, his velocity is the same. They even him bigger and stronger than in years past.” That statement holds true because a month back Burrow revealed that he’s taking a new diet and is “more dialed” in when as far as his health goes.
But apart from his health, Burrow has more reasons to celebrate, and that’s the addition of veteran tackle Trent Brown to the roster. Brian Baldinger of the show pointed out something that might just be a difference-maker for the Bengals. Also, it doesn’t stop there because Cinci drafted Amarius Mims in this year’s draft. The Cincinnati team has high hopes riding on them and Brian Baldinger claims that this is the best team in the AFC North, especially after all the changes they’ve made to their O-Line.
“The Bengals were 9-8 last year. Finished with a winning record in the toughest division of football. But they were 1 and 5 in their division. They need a healthy Joe Burrow,” said Brian Baldinger and added, “In comes Trent Brown, in comes Amarius [Mims] you know I was going offensive line here.”
“I mean defenders are going to have a hard time finding Joe Burrow behind that Maginot line that they are building up front. And If you give Joe Burrow time, whether Tee Higgins is in the lineup, he’s going to find the open receiver.” There’s something special brewing in the Cincinnati team and Trent Brown and Orland Brown Jr. are the reason behind it.
The Bengals “Maginot Line” is supposed to save Joe Burrow
The Bengals got robbed of their last season when Burrow broke his wrist. But the Bengals didn’t waste time while their star QB was waiting to heal. They focused on fixing the O-Line so that Burrow wouldn’t have to go through gruesome injuries in the future. But most importantly, the team seems to be locked in this year.

Both Trent Brown and Orland Brown Jr. are 6-foot-8 weighing more than 340 pounds. The size is enough to scare the blitzers and protect Burrow. Also, 6-foot-5 Amarius Mims, the tackle out of Georgia is supposed to stand beside the veterans to give Joe Burrow some breathing room.

Not to mention that Burrow’s favorite receiver is back. Tee Higgins will be standing alongside Ja’Marr Chase, waiting for those deep balls and flashy catches. Burrow and Higgins have the 10 most first downs and 10 most yards together as a QB-WR duo in the current history. The season brings in high expectations of Super Bowl caliber and hopefully, Burrow will stay healthy this time around.
Chase and Higgins have a point to prove to get a potential extension from their teams. Burrow has to bounce back and put the Bengals on the map and if there’s one question that needs answering, it’s whether the “Bengals can turn that motivation into wins.”
