Old habits die hard. For two decades, fan bases fought over Tom Brady’s greatness. While some asserted he was the best quarterback ever, his critics often fought over and pointed out the Patriots locker room that dominated all other 31 teams. Now, he has retired. But even then, the clashes over the GOAT are far from over. The newest one arose from his role of the being the co-owner of the LV Raiders franchise.
The entire NFL world is in Indianapolis for the Scouting combine. FOX NFL insider Jordan Schultz had a verbal altercation with the NFL insider Ian Rapoport at the Starbucks. It escalated to a point where Rapoport called the security, who calmed down the tension between both men. They also took statements from multiple eyewitnesses. Well, the reason was the most bizarre one. Tom Brady meeting Matthew Stafford!

On February 26, various news outlets reported that the GOAT met the LA Rams QB at a ski resort in Montana. While Rapoport had called it a chance meeting with no solid talks of any trade, Schultz had a totally contrasting view, claiming there was more happening than what was being shown. The rest, as they say, is history. Well, at least no one can question these reporters’ passion for their jobs!
According to the people present at the scene (per NBC’s PFT), Rapoport was talking to an agent when Schultz approached him and said, “We need to talk.” But Rapoport didn’t want to and replied, “We don’t need to talk.” The FOX reporter then hurled some accusations towards the NFL insider. Schultz, the son of former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, made it a bigger coincidence that they fought inside Starbucks.
Schultz was angry as he yelled, “If you have anything to say to me, say it to my f—— face. If this continues, we’re going to have a f—— problem.” Rapoport told him to step back and called the security, who then jumped into action. It’s crazy how much trouble the Raiders co-owner ignited between both men.
As the news spread, everyone wanted to know what exactly happened. What did the GOAT have to say? What did they both say about the escalation? We got you covered.
Tom Brady stays silent on Ian Rapoport vs Jordan Schultz
While everyone in the league was amazed with the GOAT meeting Matthew Stafford and questioned the meeting, no one thought it would escalate to such a point. But Tom Brady chose a neutral path. He didn’t give any clarity on the meeting. He only posted an IG story of his beloved cat with “💙💙💙.”

Amid these, both sides cleared out their side of the story. NFL’s Ian Rapoport remained silent and didn’t give any statement. But FOX’s Jordan Schultz did send a text message to PFT that read, “It really isn’t anything too much. Ian Rapoport and I had a verbal confrontation. It lasted a little over a minute. Multiple agents and reporters were nearby. Rapoport was the one who called security shortly after, but it never escalated further.”

The reporters aren’t alone in this, the entire league is watching the situation. There could be multiple outcomes, as the league never wants to be in the headlines for the wrong reasons. However, it also puts an onus on Tom Brady to really clarify the situation. His agent has already clarified that there was no such business discussed between the two legendary QBs. However, can we really take that at face value?
The Rams QB is on the trade market as the team is hesitant to renegotiate his contract and pay him more. They have allowed him to talk to other teams. Will he end up at the Raiders?
