Bills quarterback Josh Allen bagged the NFL MVP Award of the 2024 season. He won this award for the first time, surpassing the two-time MVP award winner Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. But after the awards were announced at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, fans and experts flooded social media with their opinions and analysis, emphasizing Jackson’s much stronger case.
Well, Ravens star running back Derrick Henry revealed his take in the Allen vs Jackson debate. He shut everyone, especially seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who has voted against Allen and thinks otherwise. The Lightning McQueen (as Lamar Jackson described him once) of the Ravens has said that it’s a “no-brainer” to think that Lamar Jackson must have won his third MVP award. He said, “Of course, I’m not going to be a little biased towards Lamar, ’cause that’s my teammate. And I just thought it was a no-brainer that he should have won.” That was one of the wholesome compliments by Lamar’s teammate. But wait, do you know who Tom Brady voted for?

An NFL reporter Jay Morrison revealed on X, “Breaking down the MVP results, where Tom Brady was one of four voters who had #Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase on his ballot.” To elaborate, Brady had picked Lamar Jackson as his MVP vote and Josh Allen as second. And he listed Ja’Marr Chase as his fourth choice and Joe Burrow as fifth. Uff! Unknowingly (and unfortunately) Brady was thrown in the side of those who have hated Allen for MVP win as the fans heavily reacted to the awards and 23-27 votes despite the great stats of Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.
But Brady‘s not alone- one of the Pro Football Hall of Famers has shown a bias towards Lamar Jackson. Wanna know more? Let’s dive deep!

The Hall of Famer Jonathan Ogden is not accepting Josh Allen as the MVP. Rejecting him bluntly, he concluded that Allen received the votes out of sympathy. Ogden said, “I get it, because [Josh] is a great quarterback. He hadn’t won one. Lamar had two. And they’re like, ‘Let’s just give him one.’ But that’s the wrong reason. What are you going to do? They made the wrong choice. But that’s all good.” Ogden opined that Allen didn’t perform this year the way Jackson did.
Jonathan Ogden said, “I don’t want it to sound like I’m hating on Josh because the brother is a tremendous quarterback. But he didn’t have the year Lamar had.” If we are talking about the stats, out of passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions, and QB ratings, Josh Allen weighs more than Lamar in only one parameter- QB ratings. Allen is 1st in ratings with 77.3 QBR whereas Lamar Jackson has 77.2 quarterback ratings.
