Can the Chiefs handle the rain, or will it be a game-changer for the Bengals?

Reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs are back at their home to take on the visiting Cincinnati Bengals. The dominant performance of the Chiefs in recent encounters has led to teams thinking about multiple excuses. But this time, the Arrowhead Stadium might bode good news as weather reports have indicated clearer skies at Kansas City.

Sunday’s weather forecast at the Chiefs home is slated to be an ideal day for football as dry weather and above-normal temperatures are set to be presented. However, this was not the case a few days back when Hurricane Francine was supposed to bring light showers across the area.

Although some sprinkles cannot be ruled out, current weather patterns have shown dry weather would continue during the weekends. Even a gentle breeze notching up to 9 miles per hour would be blowing through the Arrowhead. So, people can expect a beautiful day where nothing crazy could happen.

Moreover, teams wouldn’t be able to hide themselves against the narratives that relate to harsh weather conditions. If the skies remain clear, then neither of the franchises can hide their face behind those excuses. Well, the Bengals would be hoping they can put a stop to the back-to-back Champion Chiefs, whose last game against the Ravens was decided by the slightest of margins.

Elsewhere, the Joe Burrow-led Bengals were left scratching their heads after losing against the Patriots. But coming into this clash that has seemingly turned into a rivalry. It could all be over if the visiting team doesn’t show enough grit against the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs.

Bengals’ visit to Arrowhead Stadium renews tension on the horizon

Seeing the recent trends, the Chiefs have had the better of Cincinnati in their last two face-offs. As the Bengals have yet to win a Super Bowl title and make it to playoffs after missing out on last season. Their chances of putting a dent in the Chiefs’ ambition are quickly evaporating. However, it wasn’t like that at the beginning of this heated clash. When Cincinnati got their hands upon Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase in consecutive years, they ended up winning the first three games against the Chiefs.

For the first time, the Bengals recorded a narrow 31-28 victory, with the Chiefs failing to score a single point in the second half. Meanwhile, an AFC Championship Game that season resulted in the Bengals winning and advancing to Super Bowl LVI. But unfortunately, they ended up losing that one against the Rams. While their last win came back on December 4th, 2o22.

Can the Chiefs handle the rain, or will it be a game-changer for the Bengals?

Have an interesting take?

From then on, the Chiefs have continued to maintain their hold on the clashes. Meeting for the fourth time, the Chiefs saw themselves winning by a last-second field goal by Harrison Butker, thereby booking their tickets to the Super Bowl in 2023. Even last season, when Burrow was absent from the Bengals, Rashee Rice and Isiah Pacheco ran circles through the Cincinnati defence, thereby helping them make playoffs and finishing the season with yet another Lombardi.

Therefore, a victory in this one would mean a lot for the disjointed Bengals team, who were left speechless after their loss to New England. Or will the challenge against a three-time chasing Super Bowl dream be too much for the Bengals to handle? Well, we would soon find the answers in week 2 of the NFL showdown at Arrowhead Stadium.
