Cincinnati fans are still waiting for the team to do what they should have done long ago: make sure they keep their star-studded squad together. This is something that has been bothering Joe Burrow for days. The QB has been pushing the front office not to mess things up with Tee Higgins‘ and Ja’Marr Chase‘s contract extensions. Both of them have been the heart of the Bengals’ offense and Burrow’s key weapons.
Enter ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, who just dropped some tea about the same. But it’s not exactly the kind that Higgins’ fans want to sip on. Why is that? Well, the WR played this season with a franchise tag on him. This year, he wants a ‘fair’ deal. However, according to Jeremy Fowler, Cincinnati is looking to place the franchise tag on Tee for another season. They ‘can’t let him walk‘, but they also can’t offer him an extension. Now, honestly, that does not sound like a fair trade to Tee. The talk of the town also is that the team might offer an extension to WR Ja’Marr Chase. Along with him, they are also looking to secure DE Trey Hendrickson. So, they are retaining the trio, but not how they wanted it to be.
#Bengals embarking on ambitious offseason, aiming for deals with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Trey Hendrickson, sources say.
That starts with Higgins and the franchise tag. ‘Can’t let him walk,’ per source.

The possibility of Higgins getting slapped with another franchise tag for another year has led to fans bashing the front office. And now, Tee’s mom has entered the chat. “Selfish B——-,” read the latest post of Higgin’s mom on X. And a few netizens believe that she is hinting at the Bengals’ management. So, now, is it an indirect shot at the Bengals? Maybe. Or is the internet just blowing things out of proportion? Probably!
On the other side, an old friend of Tee, who is also an NFL player, wants him to rejoin him for the sake of the good old days.

Tee Higgins and Trevor Lawrence together?
The way Shad Khan has been making deals out there, it would be no surprise if Tee Higgins ended up in Jacksonville. But only if he could hit the free market. If the Bengals put a non-exclusive tag on Tee, he would have two choices: one, push the Bengals’ front office to offer him an extension. And two, play another year under the franchise tag. A lot of teams would be ready to sign Higgins on board if he were a free agent. Most QBs would want an offensive weapon like Tee, including his ex-college teammate Trevor Lawrence. “He’s awesome. We have a history for sure. So, that guy is, no matter where he goes, obviously, I’d love to be thrown to him again.“
Trev appeared on the ‘Up & Adams‘ show, where Kay Adams tossed a question about the Bengals WR to Jaguars QB. Higgins and Trev played together during their time at Clemson. When Kay asked what his best pitch would be to recruit his former teammate, Trev said, “Well, I think he would, obviously, I’m sure he’s got the relationship with Joe. If everything goes well, I’m sure he wouldn’t want to leave. But if that wasn’t the case, I think I would definitely be up next as far as Tee and our relationship and what we’ve done in the past.”

And that’s not it. The Jaguars QB added, “I think Jacksonville is a pitch in and of itself as far as a place to live. You’re in Florida, with no state income tax.” Well, Tee, that does sound like a fair trade.
