Reality Check! This is something that often happens in the NFL. Legends are always there to provide a reality check when a budding player with tremendous ambition fails. A similar incident appears to have occurred with Caleb Williams as well. The 2024 draft’s overall first pick, has got a harsh remark from none other than Kyle Long. But when did this happen?
For those who missed it, the Bears failed to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. The team had a poor record thus far, which Caleb Williams did not wish for. The QB aims to break Tom Brady’s record of seven Super Bowl wins. However, he would need eight wins to do this, and his first season? Well, that did not go well. On this whole thing, Kyle Long commented, “Let last night’s protection be a lesson to recruits not to make big claims after being drafted.”

This was a major jab at the rookie quarterback, who had 61.9% completed passes in 465 attempts. Although Williams has a decent record, it seems like it was not enough to win a Super Bowl. If the man truly wants to win eight Super Bowls in his career, he not only needs to push himself but support from his teammates as well.
When Caleb Williams disclosed his aim on the Pivot Podcast, the man was confident in his ability to achieve his dream. The QB stated, “I want to play at one place for 20 years and chase one guy, No. 12 (Tom Brady).”While this is a tremendous objective to achieve, Kyle Long’s statement was rather disheartening for the first choice in the 2024 draft. But wait! There’s a twist in the story too.
It appears that the legend Tom Brady has a whole different opinion on this matter. So different that the QB even contradicted Kyle Long. Really?

Tom Brady believes Caleb Williams’ desire can make him a star one day
Being a legend knows what it takes and when they are asked what if another person wants to be a legend they will always encourage them. And so did Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champion believes that young athletes have their own desire to excel. And if that motivation is what makes them work, they should never be mocked for it.
Tom Brady was present on the Pivot Podcast where he claimed, “I think there’s a lot that goes into winning one (Super Bowl). And you’ve gotta set your goals high. I would never tell anyone they can’t achieve anything. If people would’ve told me I couldn’t achieve anything, that would’ve been discouraging. And I don’t want people to discourage young athletes.”

Brady’s comment not only supports Caleb Williams but also contradicts Kyle Long’s taunt. This was not all as the five-time MVP also stated that young QBs always have higher aspirations to achieve. And if they have that fire, they may even achieve that ambition throughout the course of their lengthy NFL career. Everyone knows that in football, there are numerous opportunities, and anything is possible. This is why you should never stop chasing your aspirations.
Maybe this statement was meant for Williams as this was not the first time his and Brady’s name have been in the headlines. Now you tell us what you think about Kyle Long’s statement. Do you believe his taunt was the wrong move?
